At a special event in London earlier today, Bethesda annouced Fallout: New Vegas will be coming out next year for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. “This is not a sequel” said Bethesda’s Pete Hines, “It’s simply another Fallout game in that universe.” So… it’s a equal?
Not a lot else is know about the game at this point, other than it will follow the same RP style of gameplay as it’s sibling Fallout 3.
Fallout: New Vegas is not being developed directly Bethesda. This time development duties fall to sequel makers extrodiner Obsidian Entertainment, the company behind Neverwinter Nights 2 and Knights of the Old Republic 2… Let’s just hope they’ve found some new bug testers… Interestingly, Obsidian is mostly made up of ex-Black Isle Studio guys. Black Isle being the original developers of Fallout 3 who were shut down by owners Interplay when they ran into financial trouble.
