Golden Globes, Smolden Globes, that’s what I say… What you really need to know is who won what in the 3rd Annual Geektown Awards, as voted for by you – The lovely Geektowners! ūüėÄ

We announced a couple of categories last week as a tease, but now we have the full list of all the winners YOU voted for! Some surprises, some not so surprising, but overall I’d say a good reflection¬†of just how good the past 12 months have been in tv, movies and gaming.

Best New TV Show

Nominees: Constantine, Fargo, Gotham, Penny Dreadful, The 100, The Flash, The Strain, True Detective

Bronze: Fargo
Sliver: True Detective
Gold: Gotham

A great selection of shows, but Batman without Batman is proving the most popular with the Geektowners.

Best TV Drama

Nominees: Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Homeland, Downton Abbey, Peaky Blinders, The Walking Dead, 24: Live Another Day, Hannibal, True Detective, Fargo, House of Card

Bronze: Homeland
Sliver: Hannibal
Joint Gold: Game of Thrones / The Walking Dead

You found it just impossible to pick between the 2 giants of geek tv from last year, so voted both to share the top slot for best drama!

Best TV Dramadey

Nominees: Elementary, Castle, Orange Is the New Black, Sherlock, Suits, Bones, and Girls.

Bronze: Suits
Sliver: Orange Is The New Black
Gold: Sherlock

There’s a rule with these votes… If Sherlock is in a category, it’ll win…

Best TV Comedy

Nominees: Silicon Valley, The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, Episodes, Veep, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Bronze: How I Met Your Mother
Sliver: Modern Family
Gold: The Big Bang Theory

Big Bang didn’t just win this category, but crushed the competition in a landslide of a win!

Best TV Procedural Drama

Nominees: Elementary, Castle, Hawaii Five-0, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Bones, Person of Interest, NCIS: LA, How to Get Away with Murder, NCIS, Blue Bloods

Bronze: Elementary
Sliver: Bones
Gold: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

It maybe on it’s 15th season, but the original CSI is still the daddy of Procedural Drama!

Best Fantasy & Supernatural Show

Nominees:¬†Game of Thrones,¬†Grimm,¬†The Walking Dead,¬†Penny Dreadful,¬†Da Vinci’s Demons,¬†The Vampire Diaries,¬†The Originals

Bronze: Grimm
Sliver: The Walking Dead
Gold: Game of Thrones

Unlike earlier, there was a rather more definite split between Gold and Silver this time around with GoT nabbing the Gold.

Best Scifi & Superheroes Show

Nominees: The Flash, Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Under the Dome, Doctor Who, The Last Ship, The 100, Defiance, The Strain

Bronze: Arrow
Sliver: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Gold: Doctor Who

Re: Doctor Who… Same rule applies as to Sherlock. If it’s in play, it wins!

British TV Show of the Year

Nominees:  Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Line of Duty, Happy Valley, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Derek

The Dinklage walks away with the top prize, and well deserved too. Tyrion is awesome!

Bronze: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Sliver: The Walking Dead Game: Season 2
Gold: Destiny

Although i’m disappointed¬†Dragon Age:Inquisition didn’t rank (i think due to it being released so late in the year), Destiny is a fun FPS game.

Movie Of The Year

Nominees: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Gone Girl, Godzilla, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Lego Movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay РPart 1, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Edge of Tomorrow

Bronze: The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Sliver: Jurassic World
Gold: Star Wars : The Force Awakens

To be honest, I don’t think we needed to do this category, as it was fairly obvious what would win! Interesting to see Jurassic World take Silver over The Avengers though!

And that’s the lot! Thanks to everyone that voted this year, and I look forward to seeing what 2015 brings! If you have any comments on the winners (or losers) feel free to leave them below! ūüôā
