Upcoming drama The Living And The Dead will premiere this Friday on BBC iPlayer, 2 weeks before it’s BBC One broadcast Geektown has learnt.

BBC have decided to capitalise on the current ‘binge watching’ trend, and drop all 6 episodes of it’s brand new drama from Life On Mars/Ashes To Ashes co-creator Ashley Pharoah as a ‘box set’ on iPlayer from Friday 17th June.

Set in 1890’s Somerset, the show follows a pioneering Victorian psychologist (Colin Morgan – Merlin, Humans) and his vivacious young wife (Charlotte Spencer – Glue, Stonemouth) who move back to the family estate after the death of his mother. The couple are soon faced with a series of disturbing and strange events. Are these cases linked merely by coincidence, or is there something more sinister, and maybe, more supernatural, going on…

This is not the first time BBC have toyed with launching shows first on BBC iPlayer, having done something similar with Orphan Black last year, and with Peter Kay’s Car Share.

The Living And The Dead will be liner broadcast on BBC One, 28th June 2016, 2 weeks after it’s premiere on iPlayer.
