Stranger Things Renewed For Season 2

by Dave Elliott

The brilliant Stranger Things will be getting a second season Netflix have confirmed today. The 80’s inspired supernatural drama has been a huge success for the streaming service, winning critical acclaim from all sides of the press.

Set in 1983, the story takes place in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. 12 year old  Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) goes missing one night, leaving his mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), and older brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) frantically searching for answers. They goes to Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) for help, who opens an investigation, whilst Will’s friends Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) scour the woods for any sign of him. The kids don’t find Will, but do discover ‘Eleven’ (Millie Bobby Brown) – an odd young girl, who appears to have psychokinetic abilities. As the group dig further into the mystery of Will’s disappearance, things only get stranger, as a sinister government agency seems to be trying to cover things up… But what are those stranger things they are hiding?..

Created by Matt & Ross Duffer, Stranger Things is a pure love letter to those classic 80’s movies such as E.T. & Goonies. The entire cast are amazing, but particularly superb are the group of kids, especially Millie Bobby Brown. The Duffer Brothers haven’t released any details on the new season, other than it will take place in 1984, contain 9 episodes, and will air next year.

Stranger Things is produced by 21 Laps Entertainment & Monkey Massacre as a Netflix Originals series.
