Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’ Adds Trieu Tran & Marlene Forte To The Cast

The cast is starting to grow for Netflix’s adaptation of Richard Morgan’s Altered Carbon.

Hot on the heels of the news that Ato Essandoh & Chris Conner would be joining Joel Kinnaman’s Takeshi Kovacs on screen, today it was announced Trieu Tran (The Newsroom) and Marlene Forte (Fear the Walking Dead, Dallas) had been added to the cast.

Takeshi Kovacs (Kinnaman – Robocop, The Killing, Suicide Squad), is an ex-elite interstellar warrior know as an ‘Envoy’. Having been imprisoned for nearly 500 years, he awakes to find himself downloaded into a new body to try and solve a murder, in a world where death is nearly obsolete. If he can find the answers to this mystery, he gets to go free.

Trieu Tran is set to play Mister Leung, a ‘fixer’ for wealthy ‘Meth’ clients – extremely wealthy people who can afford to ‘resleeve’ themselves into new bodies whenever they feel like it. Leung is a violent killer who can solve their ‘problems’ but  like a ghost, leave no evidence of his crimes.

Marlene Forte will play Alazne Ortega. She is the warm and loving soul of the Ortega family, who is determined not to let her humanity be swallowed up by the high-tech world she lives in. A proud Catholic, she uses faith as her shield, despite losing her husband, and worrying about her daughter, Lt. Kristin Ortega, following in his footsteps…

Trieu Tran is probably best know in the UK for his role as Joey Phan in The Newsroom. Marlene Forte was most recently seen as Celia Flores in Fear the Walking Dead, but also appeared in the Dallas reboot, and US drama The Fosters.

Altered Carbon is yet to have an air date, but keep an eye on the Altered Carbon air date page for the latest info.
