Dominators Are Coming In The DC TV Crossover Event
If you were wondering what it would take to bring together all the heroes in the DC TV universe, the producers have just given us the answer… Dominators!
Never one to shy away from digging deep into the DC toybox, the folk at the FlashArrowBerlantiverse have pulled out a 1967 alien race know collectively known as the Dominion for our intrepid heroes to battle. As you can see from the image above, they’re pretty creepy looking dudes, with yellow skin, and big pointy teeth. They come from the outer cosmos and are a technologically advanced alien race of geneticists, who live in a strict hierarchical society. Dominators first appears as villains for the Legion of Super-Heroes, but later showed up as the main instigators in Keith Giffen’s 1989 Invasion! crossover event, where they were attempting to harvest metahumans in order to breed their own.
Whilst at first glance Dominators looked like an obscure choice for a major DC villain, reading the description of Invasion!, you can see why they picked them. An alien race who targets metahumans seems like the perfect fit as to bring our heroes together!
It’s going to be interesting to see how they manage to handle the Dominators unique appearance, but exec producer Marc Guggenheim is saying they plan to stay faithful to Todd MacFarlane’s original artwork, and use “cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look.”
The Arrow/The Flash/Supergirl/Legends of Tomorrow crossover event isn’t the only one this season, as we are also getting a Flash/Supergirl musical episode!
All 4 DC shows are due to return to Sky 1 at the end of October.
