Amazon has picked up US drama Animal Kingdom it was announced today.
The show is described as ‘an adrenaline-charged drama’ which stars starring Ellen Barkin (The New Normal, The Big Easy) as the matriarch of a Southern California family whose excessive lifestyle is fueled by their criminal activities, with Scott Speedman (Felicity, Underworld) as her second in command.
Shawn Hatosy (Reckless, Fear the Walking Dead), Ben Robson (Vikings), Jake Weary (Pretty Little Liars) and our very own Peaky Blinder, Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders) also star.
The show is based on an Australia 2010 film of the same name by David Michôd, but this moves the action from Oz to Oceanside, California.
The entire first season of Animal Kingdom is available right now to Amazon Prime members, with the 2nd season arriving soon after the US in 2017.
