Marvel’s Iron Fist To Arrive In March 2017

by Dave Elliott

If you’ve spent the weekend binge-watching your way through the adventures of Luke Cage on Netflix, you are probably wondering when the next installment of Marvel/Netflixy goodness will arrive. Today the streaming service gave us the answer, announcing that Iron Fist will arrive on the 17th March 2017.

The show follow the story of billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones – Game of Thrones), who returns to NYC fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash. Using his abilities as a skilled martial arts with the power of the ‘Iron Fist’, he is determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as a superhero.

Iron Fist is the last of the 4 original Marvel dramas to air on Netflix, before culminating in the ensemble show The Defenders, which is due to air (we believe) at the end of 2017, and will feature Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Iron Fist. Since that original deal, they have also added a 5th series starring Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, along with a 3rd season of Daredevil, and 2nd season of Jessica Jones.

Currently Marvel are only managing to put out 2 of the Netflix shows per year, although there has been talk of trying to up that to number to 3. That would put Daredevil Season 3, Jessica Jones Season 2 and The Punisher Season 1 in 2018/2019, depending on what order they decide to release them.

As always we will keep you updated as we know more.
