Time travel drama Timeless has been picked up by E4 in the UK it was announced today.
Timeless is an action-adventure series in which a mysterious criminal (Goran Visnjic – ER) steals a secret state-of-the-art time machine, intent on destroying America as we know it by changing the past. This leaves an unorthodox team consisting of scientist/engineer Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett – Better Off Ted), Delta Force Master Sergeant Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter – 90210, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and history professor Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer – Suits, Mad Men) who use the machine’s prototype to travel back in time to critical events. They must try to stay one step ahead of the criminal mastermind, whilst making every effort not to affect the past themselves.
The series comes from Eric Kripke (Revolution, Supernatural), Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Angel) and the producers of The Blacklist, and is distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television. Timeless started airing earlier this month in the US on NBC, and was their top rated premiere for that week, drawing in 11.1m viewers, so definitely one to watch out for.
Timeless will air on E4, but the exact air date is yet to be set.
