We have to wait till 2018 before we see Batfleck brood onto our screens, but to help bridge the gap, we have the joyous return of Will Arnett as the voice of LEGO Batman when The LEGO Batman Movie lands in UK cinemas – 10th February 2017.
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up…
Will Arnett reprises his starring role from The LEGO Movie as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (Muppets Most Wanted, the Hangover films) voices The Joker, with Arrested Development’s Michael Cera as the (somewhat annoyingly upbeat) orphan Dick Grayson. Daredevil’s ‘Night Nurse’ Rosario Dawson is taking on the voice of Barbara Gordon, and Voldemort himself, Ralph Fiennes, shows his more cuddly side, as Alfred, Bruce’s faithful and trusty butler.
The LEGO Batman Movie is directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Movie, Robot Chicken), and produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee, who worked together on The LEGO Movie. It is written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter) and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers (Community, American Dad!, Spider-Man: Homecoming), with additional screenplay material by Jared Stern (Wreck-It Ralph, Dr. Ken) & John Whittington, based on LEGO Construction Toys. Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton and Will Allegra serve as executive producers.
