Marvel’s Luke Cage Renewed for Season 2

Netflix have renewed Marvel’s Luke Cage for a 2nd season it was announced yesterday.

Posting a short video on the Luke Cage Twitter account, it was revealed Mike Colter would return as the unbreakable skinned hero, with a brand new series ‘coming soon’…

Bear in mind, ‘soon’ is a relative term when it comes to the Marvel shows… We know Iron Fist is the next show to air in Marvel’s line up (arriving 17th March 2017), which we believed will be followed by the The Defenders, which is currently in production. That should be followed later in the year by the first season of The Punisher, seeing Jon Bernthal reprise his role from Daredevil.

Following on from there, 2018 should see Daredevil Season 3 and Jessica Jones Season 2 arrive. 2017 will be the first time Marvel have produced 3 of their Netflix shows in one year, so whether that will continue into 2018, and we get Luke Cage Season 2 as well, only time will tell.

Marvel’s Luke Cage see’s Mike Colter star as the titular hero, a man given super strength and unbreakable skin after a sabotaged experiment. Hiding out modern day Harlem, New York City, and trying to live a normal life, he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
