Geektown Awards – British TV Show of the Year

Union Jack flags at the ready, it’s the British TV Show Of The Year category! This is always a bit of a tricky one, as you have comedy’s battling drama, battling sci-fi… It’s a real mix of shows to choose from. However, as they say in Highlander “there can be only one…” winner… Here are the nominees.

Nominees: Black Mirror, Class, Crazyhead, Humans, Line of Duty, Red Dwarf, The Night Manager, Upstart Crow, Victoria, Wasted

Bronze: Humans

Silver: The Night Manager

And The Winner Is…

Red Dwarf

A stunning return to form for the crew of the ‘small rouge one’ as Red Dwarf takes the top spot for British TV Show of the Year. It’s taken a couple of seasons on Dave for the team to find it’s footing again, but Season XI really has been on a par with some of those earlier BBC episodes. From Kryten and Rimmer finding themselves on a planet where they are illegal, to Lister losing body parts to a deranged droid, it has all the hallmarks of the boys from the Dwarf being firmly back in the saddle.

Not only were they back for Season XI, but they also filmed Season XII at the same time, meaning there is another series of Red Dwarf in the can, and ready to air on Dave in 2017.
