Nina Dobrev Will Be Back For ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Finale!
It’s been a little unsure if this would actually happen, but it’s officially confirmed… Elena will be in The Vampire Diaries finale!
Nina Dobrev announced via Instagram (as that’s what you do these days), that she would be back, by posting a photo of the script for episode #816 entitled ‘I Was Feeling Epic’, with her name emblazoned across the front:
Nina left the show at the end of Season 6, but rather than kill off her character, they had Kai (boo hiss) casts a sleeping spell on Elena, linking her life to Bonnie’s, meaning Bonnie would have to die for Elena to wake up. This handily allowing the character to potentially return at some point.
As a fan of the show, I’m glad Nina has decided to return, even if it is only for the finale. It seems fitting that Elena, Stefan and Damon are (presumably) all together at the end.
Nina is currently co-starring in XXX: Return of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel, which is in cinemas right now.
The Vampire Diaries is still on mid-season break in the UK. We currently don’t have an exact return date, but I have been promised by ITV2 it WON’T be as late as June like it was in 2016!
