Today, Netflix have released a new Marvel’s Iron Fist featurette titled “I Am Danny Rand” which gives us a little more background on how the long-thought-dead billionaire returns to NYC after 15 years, and what he finds when he gets there.
For those that don’t yet know the story, billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
This featurette includes a bunch of new footage from the show, intercut with a Finn Jones interview. “He believes he will be received with open arms,” comments Jones, but as you can see from the video above, things don’t quite go the way he expects… “Danny just wants to do the right thing, but has this fire within him. There’s this force that runs through the universe – The Fire Of The Fist – and Danny can ignite it.”
Marvel’s Iron Fist, produced by Netflix in association with Marvel Television and ABC Studios, is the fourth in the hero series, following Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, all leading up to the teaming up of the main characters in Marvel’s The Defenders, which is set to debut later this year.
All 13 episodes of Marvel’s Iron Fist will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 17th March.
