Buffy Alumnus Adam Busch Cast In Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’

Netflix’s upcoming space drama Altered Carbon has added a Buffy alumnus to the cast, in the shape of Adam Busch it has been announced.

Based on the book by Richard K. Morgan, the show stars Joel Kinnaman (Robocop, The Killing, Suicide Squad) as Takeshi Kovacs, an ex-elite interstellar warrior known as an ‘Envoy’. Having been imprisoned for nearly 500 years, he awakes to find himself downloaded into a new body to try and solve a murder, in a world where death is nearly obsolete. If he can find the answers to this mystery, he gets to go free.

Busch is set to take on the role of Mickey, Bay City Police Department’s sarcastic and acerbic computer technician. Despite his spiky personality, he is brilliant at his job, a loyal friend to his colleagues, and determined to help them stop the killer.

Along with playing Warren, one of ‘The Trio’ in Buffy, Busch has been seen more recently as Neal on Men at Work, Mr. Carson the Teacher in Colony, and had a recurring role as Chase in Empire. That last job probably had something to do with the fact that Empire was co-created by fellow ‘Trio’ member, and ex-Buffy alumnus Danny Strong.

Busch is joined on Altered Carbon by Bone’s Tamara Taylor, James Purefoy (Hap and Leonard, Rome, The Following), Ato Essandoh (Vinyl, Elementary, Blue Bloods), Chris Conner (People vs. O. J.)Trieu Tran (The Newsroom) and Marlene Forte (Fear the Walking Dead, Dallas). The show is being produced and written by Logoeta Kalogridis, the scribe behind Shutter Island, Terminator Genisys, and the Bionic Woman tv series. The first episode is set to be directed by Game of Thrones ‘Battle of the Bastards’ Emmy winning director Miguel Sapochnik.

There’s still no release date for Altered Carbon yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear more.
