Colony Renewed For A 3rd Season

The Josh Holloway & Sarah Wayne Callies sci-fi series Colony will return for a 3rd season USA network announced last night.

Created by Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Strain) & Ryan Condal (Logan’s Run), the show is set in a near-future Los Angeles, where a a mysterious alien race has invaded the planet, Katie (Callies) and Will (Holloway) Bowman find themselves on opposite sides of the occupation after their son is take. Will is collaborating with the enemy on the promise that they will release him, where as Katie is a member of the resistance.

“When Carlton and Ryan first pitched Colony, they described it as ‘the Nazi occupation of France, with aliens.’ In a world increasingly filled with uncertainty about authoritarian regimes, Season 3 will forge an even deeper connection with our audience,” said Jeff Wachtel, President, Chief Content Officer, NBCUniversal. “It’s a quality show that we know will stand the test of time.”

Colony continues to fire on all cylinders creatively, with Carlton, Ryan and our incredible cast and crew striking a deep chord around the themes of humanity, survival and family,” added Chris McCumber, President, Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal. “Along with our partners Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for our heroes next season.”

Their maybe a few changes underway however, as the 3rd season will move from shooting in LA to Vancouver after they failed to score the all important California tax credit this season.

Colony season 2 has yet to air in the UK, but we’re expecting it to show up at some point in Spring/Summer on Sky 1.
