Thor with new haircut… check. The Hiddleston back as Loki… check… Opening stolen from Monkey Island 2…. check… Hulk in full SMASH rage going up against Thor… Woah… this is going to be good…
It seems the God Of Thunder has managed to get himself caught and imprisoned on the other side of the universe, all without his mighty hammer Mjölnir. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Goddess of Death. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
Directed by Taika Waititi (The Inbetweeners, Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows), he seems to have kept a lot of his comedic roots in this outing, as there are some great gags in the trailer alone. This looks like it’s going to be one epic, fun ride! Plus, Jeff Goldblum, which is never a bad thing in my book!
Thor: Ragnarok lands 27th October 2017 in UK cinemas (3 November in the US), but should be well worth the wait.
