Netflix has released a new little teaser trailer for ‘Ozark‘, a brand new drama series starring, produced and directed by Arrested Development’s Jason Bateman.

The Byrdes and their teenage kids, Charlotte and Jonah, are, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary family with ordinary lives. Except for the job of Marty (Bateman), a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. When things go awry, Marty must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks.

Unlike a lot of the work Bateman is known for, don’t expect many laughs here. Netflix are describing this as a ‘dark drama’, and judging by the taster, you can see why! The show explores capitalism, family dynamics and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans.

Other cast includes Academy Award nominee Laura Linney (The Big C, Mr. Holmes, Frasier) who plays Marty’s wife Wendy, Esai Morales (Chicago P.D., Criminal Minds), Julia Garner (The Americans, The Get Down), Marc Menchaca (Homeland, Flashforward), Jason Butler Harner (Ray Donovan, The Blacklist) and Harris Yulin (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 24).

Ozark will stream on to Netflix from the 21st July 2017.
