Geektown Radio

Geektown Radio : Episode 1

It’s a new year, so we decided it was time for a new type of show! Welcome to Geektown Radio – a podcast about all the latest UK TV & film news, and air date info!

Rather than just having me talk at you, I’ve roped in some help in the form of Chris Brown, fellow geek, and Editor of polaroidsandpolarbears.co.uk, to share the podcasting duties with me!

In this weeks episode, we discuss:

  • All the latest news and renewals from the US networks.
  • Outlander finally getting picked up in the UK!
  • The results of this year’s Geektown Awards.
  • And all the latest premiere dates for UK TV shows!

As this is the first show, we’d love some input from you guys about what you’d like us to cover, and what you think of the show.

Are there any specific TV/film topics you’d like to know more about? Are there features you’d like to see?

If you have any ideas or questions, please feel free to leave them on this post, or email us on [email protected].

Hope you enjoy the show!

Martin Gooch

Martin Gooch

This week we have an extended podcast as we interview independent film maker & director Martin Gooch.

Martin first came to our attention with his wonderfully sweet & charming award winning movie ‘The Search for Simon‘, which tells the story of David, a man who is searching for his younger brother Simon, who disappeared without a trace and has never been seen since. 30 years after his disappearance, David is still looking, and the search for Simon has become his life’s obsession.

In the podcast we discuss Search for Simon, his earlier award winning movie ‘Death‘ (aka ‘After Death’), and some of his upcoming projects. These include a movie adaptation of award winning novelist Robert Rankin’s book ‘Alice On Mars‘, and an adaptation of fantasy novelist legend Ian Livingstone’s Fighting Fantasy book ‘Deathtrap Dungeon‘.

Martin also directed the BAFTA award winning and EMMY nominated Spooks interactive (BBC/Kudos) and was a two time BBC New Director of the Year winner, and has directed Doctors and Hollyoaks for TV, as well as more than 20 short films as well as pop promos, commercials and virals.
