I loved the first 2, and i’m so happy to see Robot Chicken Star Wars back for Episode 3. Seth Green & Matthew Senreich’s brilliant Adult Swim stop-motion animated show is back with it’s 3rd run at Lucas’s classic franchise.

This time round, you can see Darth Vader fall into a toilet, while Emperor Palpatine rides the endless Death Star escalator! See Gary the Stormtrooper’s speederbike test-drive come to a gruesome, Ewok-splattering end! And witness the firepower of Boba Fett’s fully armed and operational T-SHIRT CANNON! Yes it’s everything you’d want from Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode III.

There’s also masses of DVD extras this time with 3 hours of special features, including: For the Love of Toys Featurette – For the Love of Star Wars Featurette – For the Love of Filmmaking Featurette – Trailers – Skate tour – Sunday in the – Boardroom with George Lucas – SW Celebration Panels – Easter Eggs – Voice Records Featurette – Writing Process Featurette – VFX Featurette – Skywalker Ranch premiere – Deleted Animatics – Chicken Nuggets – Gag Reel – Commentaries

Robot Chicken Star Wars Episode III is out on July the 4th… be with you… (damn it, i promised myself i wouldn’t use that gag! )

Stumbled across this over on YouTube, and just had to post it. It’s an interview with some of the folk at Bioware showing gameplay and some of the recently announced voiceover footage for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The more I see of this game, the more awesome it looks!

Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis coming to Steam this month

So that’s what got the LucasArts Twitter team all excited yesterday!  LucasArts have partnered up with Steam, adding a whole bunch of their back catalogue to the digital distribution platform. From Wednesday, July 8 2009 you will be able to get from Steam:

  • Armed and Dangerousâ„¢
  • Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis
  • Indiana Jones® and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
  • LEGO® Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
  • LOOMâ„¢
  • Star Wars Battlefront® II
  • Star Wars Republic Commando®
  • Star Wars Starfighterâ„¢
  • The Dig®
  • Thrillville®: Off the Railsâ„¢

On July 15th, you’ll also be able to get The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, a completely re-imagined version of the first game in the series that adds updated high definition graphics, a re-mastered musical score, and full voiceover to the classic adventure game originally launched in 1990.

Got to say, out of that whole list, the think that has me really excited is the chance to easily get hold of Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis easily again. Also looking forward to The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition. Might even take a run through LOOM and The Dig again too. I’m a big fan of Steam as an easy digital distribution system, and it’s really nice to see LucasArts embracing the PC once more.

LucasArts Teases Old School Game Release!

New Monkey Island is coming, but what else?

New Monkey Island is coming, but what else?

Oh LucasArts you tease! LucasArts have announced on their twitter feed that they’ve got a big exciting announcement coming tomorrow, relating to their back catalogue of frankly, awesome games! As to what… well, they aren’t giving much away…  We know they’ve got Telltail doing new Monkey Island adventures. We also know they’ve got a newly polished anniversary special edition release of the classic Secret of Monkey Island. So what else could it be?

Well, it could be a re-release of the other Monkey Island games, but (as awesome as that would be) i don’t think that would have them as excited as they seem to be.

Other possibilities would be a scrubbed up version of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis would also be very cool, but I would have thought they’d wait till after the new Monkey Island stuff is out before announcing that.  Although, that would tie in with the release of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings.

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter maybe?

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter maybe?

Full Throttle 2 would be another possibility – But with Tim Schafer now over at Double Fine, and working on Brütal Legend that would seem to be an odd choice to bring out another biker based game running pretty much in competition with a biker game made by Full Throttles original creator.

Day of the Tentacle or Grim Fandango sequels also would be great… but of course, there is that other Lucas franchise… but it kinda depends how ‘old school’ they’re going. New X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter game maybe? Or even a Jedi Knight sequel? Humm…

Let’s face it, it’s not like LucasArts are short of awesome games in their back catalogue to revive. Whatever it is it’s got the folk over at the LucasArts twitter feed really REALLY excited, so i’m really REALLY intrigued! I’ll let you know when we find out tomorrow!

KotOR Galaxies?

KotOR MMORPG

Okay, this is a rumour that’s been around ever since Bioware announced they were getting into the MMO business. However, it’s recently resurfaced and is rampaging through the gaming community like a stampeding Bantha.

The question is of course:

Are Bioware making a Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG?

The latest rumour to stoke the KotOR MMO fire is a press release from LucasArts today claiming “LucasArts and BioWare Corp. to Create Ground-Breaking Interactive Entertainment Product”. The game “…will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience.”

Well, that has to be a KotOR game, surely. They’d have to be idiots for it not to be! With all the hype at the moment, i mean, come on?! Look at it this way. We know Bioware are making an MMO. We know they are making a game for LucasArts that “will push the boundaries of the gaming market” (and that doesn’t sound like a straight RPG to me). Plus, what other license is it likely to be if it’s not KotOR? They already have quite a cool looking Indy game in development to coincide with the Indy 4 release. Monkey Island? Great as some of those games were, seems rather unlikely… ;)

Star Wars seems the most likely license. Plus, thanks to the appalling management of SOE, their current Star Wars MMO (Star Wars Galaxies ) has been on it’s last legs for a long time now.

EA (who recently bought Bioware ) want in on the MMO market, and don’t seem to like it when companies they own spread themselves too thinly. Would EA be happy about them creating an MMO and a separate game for LucasArts?

Plus, you have to add in all the rumours there have been, and all the hype and positive reaction to the idea of a KotOR MMO.

All i’ll say is this…

Bioware/LucasArts – If your aren’t making a KotOR MMO, you flamin well should be! ;)

This is a kinda “If only…” video. The Star Wars demo has been circling the web for a while, but i think this version really helps hammer home how awesomely cool a Star Wars game on the Wii would be! With any luck someone at LucasArts is taking notice… ;)
