“Smallville” Creators Fly Up Up And Away…
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, creators and executive producers of Smallville have decided to leave the show.
“We are incredibly proud of our work on this show. We achieved what we set out to do. We never compromised our vision. We leave knowing that “Smallville†is the longest-running comic book based series of all-time.”
Without Gough and Millar, it would lead me to think Season 8 could very well be the last for Smallville. Although i suppose after 8 seasons, at some point they are going to have to reach a time where Clark has to turn into Superman.
UPDATED: The CW today announced the new showrunners for season 8.
“Al Gough and Miles Millar have been great partners and instrumental in the development and success of ‘Smallville,’” said the network. “While we are sad to see them go, we are very excited to announce that executive producers Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson will helm the show next season. [They] have been writing for the show for the past six seasons, and as producers for the last four years, they have played an integral role in the ongoing creative evolution of the series. As showrunners, they will continue to deliver the compelling storytelling that ‘Smallville’ fans have come to expect and love.”

Ready To Have A Ball With The Joker?
As i posted a couple of days ago, the Joker’s been up to his old scavanger hunt tricks again… Empire managed to get some shots of one of the bags. It contained a purple/green bowling ball with a number on it, a mobile phone, and a note to say call the number on the ball… More info at Empire.
There’s also an update on clowntravelagency.com now all the bags have been found, and a new message that ‘seems’ to be from Joker. Worth a check around the site… I’m sure you won’t get into trouble…
WORLD OF WARCRAFT COMING TO CONSOLES?
![]()
Okay okay… I promised myself i wouldn’t post any April 1st gags, but Blizzard do it so well, and this was just laugh out loud funny. Full site at worldofwarcraft.com/moltencore/ even with a trailer!
They’re also showcasing their new Bard Hero Class, which given the recent merger with Activision, is just genius!
New Dark Knight Trailer Tomorrow??
The folk over at AICN got an email with the subject “New Dark Knight Trailer 3″…
It contained a link to clowntravelagency.com claiming a ‘departure date’ of 1st April… So, is this real? Is it more twisted viral marketing from the Batman marketeers? Or, is it someone’s elaborate april fools?..Who knows!
Check back tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel!
UPDATE: Looks like it’s another of the Joker’s scavenger hunts, but worldwide this time! The only 2 locations in the UK, and both were London, so kinda scuppered my chances, there are a bunch of US cities still left though, so keep your eyes on the site if your in the USA! Wonder what was in the packages?..
Children of Men TV Series Planned

Scifi.com recently had a chat with Bionic Woman and Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick, where he revealed he’s working on a pilot script for a tv show based on the P.D. James’s Children of Men novel. That’s the same novel that was adapted for the 2006 movie starring Clive Owen.
”It’s really taking root more in the origins of the novels in that it will focus on the cultural movement in which young people become the society’s utter focus,” Eick said in an interview at SCI FI Channel’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on March 18. “Much like our culture, whenever Lindsay Lohan does something [and] it becomes the headline of every news show, it’s about how, when you don’t have a responsibility to the next generation and you’re free to do whatever you want, where do you draw the line?”
I really really liked the movie (despite it’s rather abrupt ending), but i’m not really sure how it’d translate over into a series. I haven’t read the book however, so there maybe more scope in it than appears based on the film. It’ll be an interesting one to see how it develops. Anymore news, we’ll keep you posted!
