Doctor Who, Eleventh Doctor, Series 1 - BBC1 – 3rd April 2010 (13 episodes)
I’ve given up trying with Series numbers on Who. It’s Series Five of new Who, but DW Mag are referring to it as Series One… Although if your proper old school, it’s also series 31…
Ashes To Ashes, Series 3 - BBC1 – Friday 2nd April at 9pm, 2010.
Last series of Ashes to Ashes, promising to answer questions and round off the Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes story (8 episodes).
Castle, Season 1 - Alibi (sky 132, virgin 130) – Wednesday 7th April at 9pm, 2010.
Ladies, get your Captain Tightpants fix, as ‘Castle’ reaches the UK! Nathan Fillion (Desperate Housewives, Firefly, Serenity) stars as Richard Castle – a famous mystery novelist who helps the NYPD homicide department solve crimes.
Smallville, Season 9 – E4 – Best guess at the moment is ‘when E4 can be bothered…’ (usually around May 2010 if they’re true to form)… and they have the gall to complain about people downloading episodes, when it started airing in the US in Sept 09! UPDATE: Latest word from E4 is ‘sometime next month (JUNE 2010)’ after it finishes airing in the US on 14 May 2010… UPDATE 2: Latest rumour is June 1st 2010 for Smallville, Season 9‘s return to British TV!
Trying not to go off on another major rant about E4 and their ridiculous scheduling policies…
Dexter, Season 4 – FX – Friday August 27th 2010 at 10pm

Robot Chicken Season 2 Review
Over the weekend (in-between PS3 gaming sessions and a House marathon running on tv) I had a chance to preview a bunch of episodes from season 2 of Seth Green‘s manic stop motion sketch show - Robot Chicken.
Due out on DVD in the UK on 28th September 2009, Robot Chicken’s 2nd season continues the insane, funny, and it some places just plain wrong (but in a good way), humour of Seth Green and his ever expanding cast of voices. Along with series regulars such as Seth MacFarlane & Alex Borstein (from Seth’s other gig – Family Guy) or Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), you also get a quite unbelievable number of guest vocal talent. It never ceases to amaze me how they manage to get people to parody themselves. You see a sketch in the show featuring a Playmobil Hugh Heffner in a Playmobil Playboy Mansion, or David Hasselhoff in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Beastmaster : The Musical, only to watch the end credits to find that it actually was Heff and the Hoff.
As usual sketches range from the genuis 5 second 1 liners, to full 5min routines, with jokes ranging from high, to very low brow, but ultimately always still funny. The only place the show struggles a bit has nothing to do with it’s quality, but is some of cultural references. A couple of sketches reference US shows or toys may not translate immediately over to a UK audience, they should however still make you laugh.
Robot Chicken Season 2 is weird, funny, and at times wildly inappropriate (I particularly enjoyed Jesus and the Argonauts and Lil’ Hitler sketches), but if you like off the wall humour, it’s well worth the purchase.
8/10 – Insane, inappropriate, and extremely funny.
Summer Glau Enters The Dollhouse!
Dollhouse may have Terminated the Sarah Conner Cronicles, but that’s doesn’t stop Summer Glau hopping over the fence and back to the world of Whedon. Summer is set to pop up in the Dollhouse as a character named Bennett for a multi-episode arc, starting at episode 5 of season 2. Bennett apparently shares a past with Echo and has ‘a connection’ to another Dollhouse character…
I’m glad to see Summer back on the tv screen, and even better to see her working with Joss again. It also gives me a great excuse to post this photo of her. ![]()
