Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

hi dave i just wanted to ask how do i change the preferences notifications as i only wanna receive ones that are just for me not

Simon

Dave, Channel 4 said it was planning a night of celebrating ten years of ‘Friday Night Dinner’ including a brand new documentary which is now going to be dedicated to Paul Ritter. I don’t think a broadcast date has been released yet. Is there any chance you might be able to add this to the list at all?
Many thanks, Simon

Trevor Flores

Has anyone heard anything about UK release for Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.? Starts on Hulu May 21st. Thank you.

Dave Elliott

No, they’ve not announced the international release for that yet. You’d think it’d be coming to STAR on Disney+, but it hasn’t appeared in the May listings, so not sure right now…

Trevor Flores

Thank you Dave.

Does anyone remember ITV Cop Drama The Bill? Well if you do then it’s good news because according to The Sun Newspaper Website and TVZONEUK.com The Bill will be revived by ITV But The Show will have a brand new name called Sun Hill and 3 original characters will return Sgt June Ackland, PC Tony Stamp and DC Jim Carver if ITV Decides too pick the show up. ITV Are Rumoured to pick up the show for 2 Seasons. The 3 original characters return to Sun Hill due to high Sucide rates in the area.

You can watch classic episodes of The Bill on UKTV’s Drama Channel or catch up on UKTV Play App every weekday.

Does anyone know when Coroner starts on More4? I saw a trailer for it this week and thought it looked good but can’t find any info about the date it is shown, other than articles that More4 bought the show, including the GeekTown article… Surely it’s soon if they’re advertising it.

Dave Elliott

I’d totally forgotten they picked that up too, but if you’re seeing ads that is a good sign. All I can say at the moment is that it doesn’t look like it’ll be before the end of April, as we have confirmed dates up till then. Maybe early May, but I’ll post something when they confirm a date.

Jon Wolf

Season 3 of Coroner is currently airing on Sky Witness. All of Season 1 & 2 + what’s aired of Season 3 are available On Demand/Catch Up.

Dave Elliott

That is true, although not much use if you don’t have Sky or NOW. More4 will have 2nd run / Freeview rights for it.

Jon Wolf

Is Coroner also available on Virgin Media?

Dave Elliott

Not 100% sure. I think only via Sky Witness, not specifically on Virgin Media.

Jon Wolf

Sky Witness is on Virgin Media. But if Coroner is On Demand/Box Sets with Virgin, I cannot say.

Martin Elliot

Yes it is

Some truly heartbreaking news… Helen McCrory, star of Peaky Blinders, Penny Dreadful, Skyfall, the Harry Potter films, and a multitude of other amazing movies and tv shows has passed away after battling cancer according to her husband Damien Lewis:

“I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from family and friends. She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and we know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives.”

I actually was lucky enough to have the pleasure of interviewing her at some of the Peaky Blinders events, and she was so lovely. RIP Helen, you really will be missed.

That is sad. I remember seeing her a few years ago in Medea at the National Theatre.

Any idea when episode 10 of Big Sky will be on Disney Plus? It aired on ABC Tuesday after the mid-season break, so would have thought it would be available with today’s new content, which would allow them to continue releasing weekly after episode 9 was released last Friday.

Dave Elliott

Humm… no… I’m sure I read the plan was to release it straight away, so I was under the impression it would be there this week. Either they changed their minds, or the info was wrong…

Gary Ironside

Hi Dave,, wondered also if you had managed to hear anything more from Disney regarding when Big Sky would be shown,, I wondered if it was just a delay in case there was going to be a break in the schedule so that D+ would just show it without breaks. thanks

Dave Elliott

Haven’t heard any more yet. I suspect you’re correct, that might be the case, as it runs on ABC in the US and network tv scheduling over there can be a bit erratic. There could be some more breaks coming up in the run on ABC, so they’ve skipped a few weeks now, rather than have it not show up randomly a few weeks from now. They haven’t given a return date for it yet though on STAR.

EPIX has announced the season 2 premiere date of war of the worlds is June 6th in the us, so i would suspect fox uk in summer. hopefully.

Steve

Hi Dave , is there any reason why condor season 3 is not on your list .

Dave Elliott

Yes, it wasn’t added when it was dropped onto Sky box sets, and it’s very unclear if it’ll ever get a 3rd season. It wasn’t technically cancelled, but the US channel which commissioned it (Audience Network) no longer exists… I believe Epix are now airing the first 2 Seasons again in the US, so there is a small (very small) glimmer of hope it could get picked up by them for a 3rd season, and I’ll add it in if it does.

Jon Wolf

I doubt Condor will get renewed for season 3. Season 2 was meh.

Steve

Ah thanks Dave

Martin Elliot

Yes I doubt that and Mr Mercedes will be coming back (aired on Starzplay/Virgin Ultra HD)

Gemma

Hey, any news on Season 3 of New Amsterdam?
Thanks 😀

Dave Elliott

Nothing yet, although Amazon Prime tend to drop all the episodes as a boxset rather than running it straight after the USA. I know it’s also appeared on Sky and on More4, but assuming Amazon still have the premiere rights, it should air on there first.

As to when… It’ll depend if NBC is running the show straight through, or if there is a mid-season break. If they break at 9 episodes (which is what they usually do) the first half of the season should drop around May onto Amazon Prime. If they run straight through, it’ll be a bit more of a wait… If you’re after Sky/More4 dates, that’ll be way after the Amazon premiere.

Elodie

I’m sure I read something that said there would only be 13 episodes this season. As they’re already renewed, I took this as an intention to include it in the autumn line-up, as it always used to be. I think they’re up to about 7, so if this is right Amazon could release it in about six weeks time.

Dave Elliott

Ah yes. Looks like you’re right, it’s 13 episodes this season. Assuming it is coming to Amazon Prime first again, that should mean somewhere around early June for it to drop. 🙂
