Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

  16. Annette says:

Hi you have seal team listed as back on 6th March according to a tweet I received today from Sky it’s 5th March at 9pm

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Ahh, yes. It was a typo on the update sheet from Sky today. It said Tues 6th and the 6th is a Weds, so I’m guessing it is the date that is wrong not the day. It’s back on the 5th now.

  17. Kieran says:

Anyone have any idea when Family Guy returns to ITV2

    • Sarah Finn says:

I read that it’s returning sometime next month. I’m assuming ITV2 wants to show the remainder of the season uninterrupted as I think there’ll be another break in the US next month

  18. Richard O says:

This is based on how the first series of Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators was shown on BBC One last year. In the new issue of TV Times, on the back page (about the next issue) it mentions the show being back the week after next. The first series was shown over two weeks (Monday to Friday) in an afternoon timeslot. So class this as ‘TBC’, but I think the new, second series will be starting on BBC One on Monday 25th February (subject to change).

  19. Hayley says:

Do you know when part 2 of Riverdale season 2 will be shown on 5star?

  24. Gurminder Sidhu says:

Hi does anyone know when the magicians is back please

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Not yet. Summer most likely… Although it depends on Channel 5’s “drunk scheduling” policy, which seems to involve downing a bottle of scotch, pinning all the shows to a wall, then throwing darts at them whilst blindfold, so it’s really anyone’s guess. 😉

  25. Gurminder Sidhu says:

Hello guys the gifted is starting on 14th feb on fox at 9pm

    • Paul Dormer says:

I think you mean the 17th, as has been much mentioned already here. (12th on US TV.) And it’s only re-starting after a short break. Only three more episodes in the season, it would seem.

American friends tell me that the UK fetish for wanting all the episodes of a season to be shown one after the other for the whole season seems odd to them.

      • Gurminder Sidhu says:

Hi i have looked on my sky schedule for the week it is definetly the 14th in the uk

        • Paul Dormer says:

Whereas, I have looked in my Sky schedule and Fox is showing The Orville on the 14th (Thursday) at 9 pm(21:00). However, episode 14 of The Gifted has turned up in my planner for next Sunday, the 17th.

  35. Richard O says:

Have double-checked with Movies 24 regarding the UK start date for the third season of Chesapeake Shores, because the date they gave me (18th March) falls on a Monday, and last year the second season premiered over five consecutive Sunday afternoons (double bills each Sunday) around April last year.

They’ve got back to me regarding the start date. It is 17th March, which falls on a Sunday. I assume they will be double bills and air around mid-afternoon (3 or 4 pm start time for the first episode, but that’s an estimate).

Have Hallmark renewed the show for a fourth season in the States?

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Chesapeake Shores isn’t yet renewed or cancelled. It’ll probably be around May when we hear one way or the other. 🙂

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Now renewed for 4th Season. They have also greenlit a spin-off movie based on characters from its original series. “The world of Chesapeake Shores will expand into the movie genre with more stories from the O’Brien sisters, Abby, Bree and Jess.”

    • Edward Perkins says:

Chesapeake Shores Season 1 to 3 box set is also available to watch on Netflix UK As well. Season 4 will air This Summer 2019 on Netflix UK First before it airs on Movies 24 because its classed as a Netflix Original in The United Kingdom airing weekly after it airs on Hallmark in America.

Would you happen to know if fresh off the boat is returning to 5USA (Or 5STAR, whichever one it is)?

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, according to the people at Channel 5, they do still have the rights, and it will come back to 5Star… We just don’t know when at the moment. As you can see from the list, it appears to now be premiering on Amazon Prime, but Channel 5 are claiming they do still have the broadcast rights.

    • Edward Perkins says:

  54. gary says:

afternoon i was wondering if ‘For the People’ was going to be coming in March as it is back then in the US. thanks.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Humm… not sure on that. I don’t think I’ve seen it in any of the press stuff so far, although they don’t always put everything in there. Plus it’s only the 2nd Season, so it’s hard to guess when it’ll air as there’s no pattern yet. Could be it arrives close to the US. Could be it stays around Aug, which is when it aired last year.

  55. Mr A Wood says:

Has Blue Bloods season 9 moved from Atlantic to Witness?

  57. Simon says:

    Hi, Dave
Just wanted to check… you have both ‘Pearson’ and ‘Second City’ listed as the ‘Suits’ spin off starring Gina Torres. I might assume that ‘Pearson’ is the correct listing, so I was wondering what “ Second City’ might be?

  58. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yeah, sorry to say, that could be accurate. Still no sign of it anywhere and Channel 5 has no idea if/when it’ll air.

  59. Jay says:

Why do I get the feeling Channel 5 are going to do the same they did with Person Of Interest and Gotham with Will & Grace. It should have started by now.

  60. Shell says:

Fresh Off the Boat S4 is now on Amazon Prime Video

  62. Becky says:

Any news on when Flack – Anna Paquin’s new show is coming to the uk? I think it is on W in the usa

  63. Paul Dormer says:

For those following The Gifted on Fox and confused as to what’s happening next Sunday, it looks as if it is missing a week in the US. Episode 14 is not showing till next Tuesday there, so next Sunday Fox appear toe be repeating episode 12.

  64. buckie1967 says:

Is outlander season 4 coming on More 4 soon

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

That one is a little tricky. There seems to be around a 2yr gap between the Starz/Amazon broadcast and the More4 broadcast. That’s *may* be due to Amazon having a 2yr exclusivity on UK broadcast rights, although I’m not 100 percent sure on that.

So, the previous 2 seasons have been in March/April on Starz/Amazon, then June (2yrs later) on More4. However, Season 3 didn’t air until Sept 2017 on Starz/Amazon, so that might mean More4 can’t air it until the Autumn this year. Or, the Amazon deal may not have exclusivity built in, and it’ll show up in June on More4 again. So basically either June or Autumn on More4 are most likely.

  65. Keith Trotter says:

Has War of the Worlds aired on BBC? Sure it was due to air in late 2018 but then nothing. And now Fox/Canal are making a version

  68. Fraser Thomson says:

I think BBC2 have decided at short notice to repeat the Peter Jackson film and sent their Saturday night schedule in to meltdown……. never known such a mystery about what might actually be on and when!!!!!

(My apologies to the forum as well…… my Replies to Comments never seem to fall in line with the comment I’m replying to, they seem to jump to the top of the list as a fresh comment and look out of place and probably don’t make much sense?? Will be interesting to see where this Reply goes when I hit the button).

    • Paul Dormer says:

But the Jackson film was listed in the paper copy of Radio Times that arrived this morning, so it can’t have been that short notice. It’s even listed as one of their highlights of the week.

The Saturday schedule in the Sky EPG is now exactly that shown in the Radio Times. No bowls tournament showing.

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Ahh, the Sky EPG has literally just caught up in the last hour or so as I checked it earlier, and Mayans wasn’t there. It now is, so it’s back to being 2nd at 10.40pm. 🙂

  69. Fraser Thomson says:

My Freeview/Youview EPGs have recently updated themselves and replaced Saturday nights BBC2 ‘no information’ gaps with Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old film, followed by the first two episodes of Mayans MC??? Will that series be starting on 2nd February after all???

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Possibly, I did wonder if that might happen. That seems to be the first EPG to update with that info. I’m checking the Sky and other online EPGs for updates a few times a day to see if they switch too. Currently getting a wall of slience from the BBC, so it’s not totally clear what is going on! I’ll update the listing if it changes.

  70. Piers says:

    A question for Dave Elliott…

    I’m a Freeview TV watcher.

Go back a couple of years and it used to be the case that a lot of the series I watched, stuff like the European crime dramas that appear on BBC4 and More4 or the long-running US series on the 5/5USA/5Star networks, would be highlighted here on Geektown.

Increasingly it seems like the internet / cable channels are dominating the schedules, and I keep missing the start of shows that I used to find out about here.

Is this for a practical reason, like these channels just don’t release the info to you, or is it that you’ve chosen to concentrate on the subscription channels because you feel they’re more popular?

    Thanks,

    Piers.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Hi Piers. It’s not that we’re actively ignoring them. The general policy is if someone asks about a show in the comments, we add it and try to make sure we track it. However, there are nearly 1,500 shows in the database at this point, so I try to prioritise updates to the shows people are asking about.

With the European crime dramas, I may have become a bit lax in updating and adding those. I do try to put them in when I spot premieres, but I’ll try to make sure I add more in the future.

With the 5/5USA/5Star US shows, you should be seeing the updates on here, unless I’ve missed updating them – they’re sometimes hard to spot amongst the 5 press info for “Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly”, “My OAP Hell” and other reality rubbish. 😉

  71. Liam says:

So am I assuming that Sky Witness have dropped how to get away with murder? As Sky advertised back in early Jan as new this month and now February is at the end of this week and still nothing?

    • Brendan says:

They haven’t dropped it (at least not yet) not sure what the delay is but they tweeted that it should be on sky witness soon and apologised for the delay and said as soon as they know when it will air they will tweet it

  72. Fraser Thomson says:

Is there some confusion over whether Mayans MC will start on BBC 2 this Saturday (2nd Feb’) or the following Saturday (9th Feb’)????? The BBC’s own website TV guide is showing it this Saturday and so is the guide on Radio Times website……. BUT my Freeview and Youview TV guides are showing ‘no information’ gaps for this Saturday evening??? Was it planned to start on 2nd and the BBC are doing some sort of late change???
