Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

26,837 Responses to “UK Air Dates for US & UK Shows in 2020”

  1. Jonathan says:

Is it just me, or does this page load really slowly for everyone? It was working fine a couple of weeks ago, but I see there’s new adverts – maybe that makes it slower?

  2. John Casey says:

Does anyone have an idea of what UK TV station has bought Legacies? Its already into Season 2 in the US, im sure someone has bought the UK rights by now.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No UK buyer at the moment as far as we’re aware, like many of The CW shows. However, now the HBO deal is sorted out with Sky, we might see some of these series being sold to other broadcasters.

      • Jay says:

        What deal is that Dave.

        • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

          This one – https://www.geektown.co.uk/2019/10/30/sky-extends-hbo-carriage-deal-with-warner-media-adds-co-production-partnership-for-hbo-max-series/

I will preference this by saying this is speculation, but the reason the HBO deal *may* have been affecting The CW show sales is that we where hearing stories of WarnerMedia (who own HBO, CW and a bunch of other properties) holding on to shows they own for their own HBO Max streaming service, and features content from HBO, CW, DC Universe and other shows they own. HBO Max is launching in the US and in some locations internationally, but only in places where they don’t have a deal in place with Sky for the HBO content (such as the UK, Germany etc…)

It is possible those stories about them hoarding shows were true, as they didn’t want to let things go in case the Sky deal fall through and they needed them for HBO Max. Now it is signed, they don’t need to hold on to the properties which were not covered by the Sky/HBO deal, as they aren’t launching HBO Max here, and can sell them off to other UK channels.

          • Jay says:

OMG I bet your brain hurts. I know mine does. What’s going to happen with the Netflix deal with DC Universe and The CW shows. Will they be sold on.

            • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, it is a bit brain hurty. 😉

The Netflix UK deals with WarnerMedia/CW shows have been renegotiated. Previously they all aired next day in the UK. Now only Riverdale has that deal to air next day. Netflix UK has said Dynasty will air as a boxset next year, but Black Lightning Season 3 may or may not come to Netflix UK at all.

The only DC Universe show Netflix UK had was Titans which always aired as a boxset. It appears Season 2 of that will come, but we don’t have a date yet (best guess is Dec or Jan). The single season Swamp Thing when to Amazon UK, and Doom Patrol has not been picked up here so far.

As far as we’re aware, anything else which doesn’t currently have UK broadcasters (like CW’s Legacies, Nancy Drew, Roswell etc…) or things like the HBO Max shows are out on the open market, so could land anywhere.

  3. Edward Perkins says:

Also Channel 4 have opted not to renew its licence deal with NBC For US Drama This Is Us.

    Info From TVWISE.

    • Jonathan says:

Noooooo 🙁 I thought this would be the case, so disappointing. I know it’s available on DVD from Amazon, but we don’t watch DVDs in our house since we have a lot of recordings to get through.

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yeah… I thought it may go that way unfortunately. Trying to put a positive spin on things… on the plus side, that does mean it is potentially back on the open market for someone else to buy. Plus Amazon has the first 2 seasons so it is possible the 3rd may now show up on there. Also, This Is Us is a Disney-owned show (airs on NBC but owned by 20th Television i.e. Disney), so if nothing else, it could (possibly) land a permanent UK home on Disney+ next year.

  4. Edward Perkins says:

According to TVWISE E4 Will be showing Season 14 of Supernatural Channel 4 have confirmed.

  6. Mark says:

Titans renewed for season 3 even before season 2 been shown!

  7. Annette says:

After today’s announcement from CBS in the US that Seal Team will be on a 9 week break with the final season of Criminal Minds in its place (from 8 January to 19 May) I am now wondering if that Is perhaps this is the reason that Sky still have not given a start date (despite the press pack for November)

maybe they are waiting until there is enough episodes in the bag to go through with either no gap or a smaller hiatus than last year?

  8. Kristy Hayden says:

Help……Does anyone know if there will be a bother series of No offence.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

I don’t think there has been any announcement either way at the moment. I think Paul Abbott has been working on some ideas for a potential 4th Season, but C4 hasn’t announced one and nothing has been filmed as far as I can tell.

  9. Edward Perkins says:

US Crime Gangster Drama Power Final 6th Season returns to Netflix UK on Monday 6th January 2020 not the 7th.

Info from TVWISE Announced last week.

  10. Edward Perkins says:

Netflix Crime Drama You Season 2 starts on Boxing Day Thursday 26th December 2019 on Netflix UK.

  11. Sarah says:

What has happened to This is Us??
Been waiting ages for season 3

  12. Kieran says:

According to IMDb, Titans season 2 will premiere on Friday 13 December on Netflix

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

I don’t think that’s officially been announced by Netflix and it’s a speculative release date. I believe that is the earliest it could possibly air on Netflix, not the actually announced date.

  13. Helen Minto says:

Any news when Blindspot will return?

  14. No date yet, but Fox have started trailing the US adaptation of War of the Worlds.

  15. Jaco Moss says:

Season 2 of The Sinner will receive its UKTV Premiere on BBC Four on Saturday November 23rd at 9pm with a double bill.

Season 2 of Fear The Walking Dead will receive its Free to Air Premiere on E4 on Thursday November 28th at 2:10am

  16. Kieran says:

Is SEAL Team still coming this year

    • Kieran says:

      and Madam Secretary

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Not sure on SEAL Team. It was in the November press pack from Sky, but we have listings up to 29th Nov now, and it doesn’t appear to be there… Sometimes shows shift after that info is released (as happened with Greys Anatomy and The Good Doctor), but hopefully it’ll either be (very) late Nov or early Dec. Failing that, early 2020.

Madam Secretary hasn’t shown up yet at all and wasn’t in the December press pack from Sky either… It didn’t air until December last year though, so it could be they just didn’t put it in the pack, or could be it will air in the new year. I’ll update the list when I have something.

  17. helen raybould says:

hi dave I see that bh90210 has been added although I checked tvfinale website as I was looking for something else and I saw that bh90210 has been cancelled

  18. Jaco Moss says:

Fox Uk has picked The Fix and will air it on Thursday November 28th at 9pm

    Info From TV Wise

  19. Warren Boyne says:

Does anyone know when SVU is appearing on our TV screens in the UK, SVU has already started season 21 in USA.

  20. Jay says:

So it’s looking more like 9-1-1, SEAL TEAM and The Resident will all be starting in the new year. Plus still nothing on who has bought Batwoman. I’ve got a feeling it’s E4 and they’ll announce something soon for the new year.

  21. Jaco Moss says:

Disney + is coming to the UK on March 31st it has been announced

    • Jay says:

Seeing that Sky One own the first to air rights and channel 4 own repeat rights will we be getting The Simpsons?

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Good question! To which the answer is “don’t know” at the moment…

It may be that Sky manages to retain the first run rights, but Channel 4 loses the repeat rights and they go onto Disney+.

Could be that Disney decide to make it exclusive to Disney+…

Could be they end up on Sky One, Disney+ and Channel 4, so we have Simpsons everywhere!

Really depends on what the contracts for the show is like with Sky and Channel 4 at the moment, and how much Sky/C4 are willing to pay for it.

  24. Jonathan says:

Anyone know if The Little Mermaid Live show which was shown on ABC in the US, will be shown in the UK? Would love to watch this on TV!

  25. Chloe says:

Any news about greys anatomy and how to get away with murder?

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Latest I have on Grey’s is that it isn’t going to be this year… Still no date at the moment. They held How To Get Away With Murder until June this year, so I wouldn’t expect that to land anytime soon either.

  26. WWE1982 says:

Any news on Stan Lee’s Lucky Man or has it been cancelled?

    • Jon says:

Lucky Man was not cancelled. But it did end. SO there will b no more.

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

I don’t think that they ever actually said it was officially ending, although the end of Season 3 did round things off reasonably well. They have not announced a 4th Season though and haven’t filmed anything.

It may be one of those series that goes on hiatus for a bit so the actors can do other things, and they come back to it in a few year, but yes, as of right now, it seems to have ended.

  27. Jaco Moss says:

Law and Order SVU Season 18 will receive its Free to Air Premiere on 5USA on Thursday November 21st at 9pm

CBS Justice have picked up CSI: Cyber Season 2 and will air it in 2020. Season 2 never aired on Channel 5 and went straight to DVD.

    Info From TV Wise

  28. Jay says:

Does anyone know what’s happened to Light as a feather? Put a series link on it, recorded episode 1 season 1 but now looks like E4 have haven it off the air. Have they binned it after 1 episode.

  29. Emma says:

    Hi Dave,
Any idea what has happened to This IS Us season 3? I think season 4 has already started American. Thanks!

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Unclear at the moment. I think (I don’t know this for certain, but suspect) it’s become too expensive for More4 to justify buying it in. However, it is technically a Disney show now as it is run by 20th Television. It’s possible we may see it pop up on Disney+ when that launches in Spring 2020 in the UK. It may also appear on Amazon Prime at some point, as they have the first 2 seasons of it.

    • Sarah Finn says:

It appeared on DVD on Amazon UK a couple of weeks ago:

  30. Edward Perkins says:

Season 6 Part 2 of US Crime Drama Power starts on Monday 6th January 2019 on Netflix UK.

    Info From TVWISE.

  31. helen raybould says:

hi dave is there any news on when the l word generation q might be coming to the uk

  32. Kieran says:

This gets asked a lot but any news on Batwoman. And if it doesn’t air until 2020 would they air the crossover episode first in December or show it whenever it airs. Because i don’t want to watch part 1, 3, 4 and 5 but not see part 2 for months

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No news unfortunately. The statement from Sky says they have the rights to broadcast Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow, and will be showing these seasons in full – there were some stories going around saying they weren’t broadcasting the crisis event at all. Those stories are incorrect.

However, Sky has not managed to acquire the rights to broadcast Batwoman… This is due to them having been already acquired by “another party”, but they do not know who has acquired those rights and do not know where or how the series will be broadcast in the UK.

So part 2 of the crossover will be missing, and I think we can say that Sky is just as annoyed about that as the UK Arrowverse fans. But if the rights aren’t there to buy because someone else has them, there really isn’t anything Sky can do about it…

      https://www.geektown.co.uk/tvairdates/batwoman/

      • Kieran says:

So basically there’s no point watching the crossover when it airs on sky as it would be incomplete. Sky are going to lose a lot of viewers for that

        • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

That seems to be the situation at the moment. As I said though, if WarnerMedia has already sold it somewhere else, there really isn’t anything they can do about it… The team at Sky aren’t happy about it either.

          • Paul Dormer says:

Sky are going to need an extra-long “previously on…” section when they show the crossover. 🙂

As no-one has admitted to having the rights yet, and as the show has been running a month in the US, whoever has it is apparently not worried about all the pirated copies I presume are now circulating. (I don’t have enough time to watch everything I can legitimately, so I’ve never investigated pirates.)

Now here’s a thought. Given all the brouhaha I’ve read about the objections to there being a a gay lead character, maybe the rights have been bought up by an anti-LGBT broadcaster so nobody can see it.

      • Simon says:

How about “ Legends”? Any word on that yet?

        • Andrew Ward says:

Think I saw somewhere that Legends of Tomorrow is showing from Early 2020. Might even be on Geektown tbh!

          • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, whilst there is nothing official on Legends yet, it doesn’t air in the US until early 2020, so there is no announcement here. It is *expected* to return to Sky One along with the other Arrowverse shows which already have deals there, although nothing is confirmed. Batwoman was different as it was a new show.

  33. Les cave says:

The cockfields starts on the 12th November at 10pm on gold

  34. Les cave says:

Goldigger starts on the 12 November at 9pm on bbc1

  35. Jay says:

Sky Witness must be getting fed up with buying shows that are getting cancelled before they have shown them. I was going to watch the in between but not bothering now.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

It was an Universal Television produced show so it may not have cost them much (if anything) as Comcast own both NBC, Universal and Sky now. Fills some air time for them I guess.

  36. Jaco Moss says:

On Last Nights BBC News at Ten there was a section of Disney + and an interview with the head of Disney and the voiceover said that Disney + should be in the UK Next Spring.

  37. The latest issue of SFX has the UK adaptation of The War of the Worlds down for 17th November.
