Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

Disney + will realise the first 2 episodes of The Mandalorian on lunch day then weekly episodes every Friday it has been announced.

Info from Radio Times Website

Dave Elliott

Yeah… I read that earlier… Seems like a really bad idea and is going to upset UK fans… I get that they don’t want people to buy it for a month and unsubscribe, but, really?

Kieran

I would’ve thought with all thats going on they’ll let people enjoy it by watching all in the same day (which I planned on doing).

They also said Star Wars: The Clone Wars final season will start on March 24th with Episode 1 and 2, and episode 3 and 4 will release on March 27th and then double episodes every Friday until they catch up with the US

Jon

I just found out that “His Dark Materials” is available to watch on BBC iPlayer in UHD/HDR.

Jaco Moss

Season 3 of Ransom will receive its free to air premier on 5USA on Friday April 3rd at 9pm

Info From TV Wise

Mike

Any news on which episode Batwoman will lead off with? Is it too much to hope that E4 might show the Crisis episode to be kind to the Sky CW watchers, especially since the other Crisis episodes are on that same week. Otherwise we’ll have to wait nine weeks to watch the whole Crisis saga.

Dave Elliott

It’s episode 1. I would suggest those of you with Twitter badger @E4Tweets about releasing the Crisis episode in line with Sky…

Jon

I know this isn’t what’s wanted to be heard, but most with Sky channels have a DVR that can be used to line up Batwoman with the rest. Then binge watching can be done. Given that we are in for the long haul, that’s not so bad.

lisa strachan

with it being ep 1 of batwoman on the sunday then they could have the crisis ep on the monday at 9pm straight coz supergirl on at 8pm which could have made sense that way coz u would have seen the 1st ep so u know what its like before crisis ep does that make sense.

Andrew Ward

What they could do is like you say Lisa. E4 could let Sky One show the crisis episode at 9pm on Monday 30th March and then E4 could just show it themselves when they get round to it.

Dave Elliott

I have message E4 a couple of times about this, but it’s like shouting into the void at the moment…

I have pointed out that, even though the Crisis episode is technically eps 9 of the run, it actually makes no sense at all to air it in the UK as episode 9. It has zero connection at all to the overall Batwoman plot.

So if you’re only watching Batwoman and not the other Arrowverse shows, you get to episode 9 and have this random, stand-alone episode, with no context about this “crisis” with a bunch of other characters you’ve never seen before… then eps 10 goes back to the main Batwoman story. It’ll make no sense to people watching just that show, and annoy people watching the rest of the Arrowverse by delaying the Crisis part 2 for 9 weeks…

It actually makes far more sense to air eps 9 first, or separately put it on All4, and not air it as part of the main run.

Simon

Does anyone know if U.K. shows, like the U.S. are suspending production? Chat shows, game shows, scripted dramas etc. Haven’t seen anything, but given that theatres and cinemas are now shutting down, I’m wondering if it’s just a matter of time?

Dave Elliott

Some dramas shot in the UK certainly are, along with shows for UK broadcasters. The Witcher S2 is shutdown which was filming here. Around the World In 80 Days for the BBC was shooting in South Africa and is shutdown. Baptiste S2 was filming in Budapest, Hungary, but production has been suspended. I believe The Crown is still shooting at the moment though.

Regarding audience shows/game shows, Applausestore who handle a lot of the tickets for those things seem to still be taking tickets for some shows (Ant & Dec Takeaway for example), although they have posted this message on the site https://www.applausestore.com/book-a-message-to-all-our-members-about-covid-19 I suspect they will get shut down at some point too, but still seem to be going on at the moment.

Simon

Thanks Dave, I wonder about soaps. They’re on daily and have such a frantic turnaround schedule wise, that if they shut down, that could be a massive impact on TV viewing

Frances

Most soaps are 3/4 months in advance, so shouldn’t have to much of an impact

Brian Stabler

According to a report in one of the papers the other day they’re eight weeks ahead and they could look to limit the number of episodes they show so they don’t run out.

Dave Elliott

Yeah, all the UK soaps are still filming as of today (17th March) but that may, and I think probably will change at some point in the future.

Jane Justice

Have you heard anything about when The Blacklist is coming back?

Dave Elliott

Looks like its April, but don’t have an exact date yet.

Lisa Strachan

family guy season 18 returns next monday 23/3 at 9pm on itv2

helen raybould

is it true that the last tango in Halifax has been cancelled on bbc1 at 9pm

Andrew

Season 5 ended on Sunday 15th March 2020. There were only 4 episodes.

helen raybould

yes I know I viewed it but I have seen rumours that it has or will be cancelled

Dave Elliott

Nope, not cancelled, although, not renewed either at the moment.

helen raybould

I am not holding much hope for this show it would be a shame if it got cancelled as it would benefit the elderly the teenagers and those inbetween also its a family show

DaveB

Probably a show that wont be officially cancelled but not renewed either until if/when they decide to do more. It was 2 years between series 3 and series 4 (which was only 2 episodes) and more than 3 years between series 4 and series 5, so if it comes back expect a similar gap again.

Derry Hughes

Hi I thought Vikings 5b was on 10th March?

Dave Elliott

It was… Episode 11 of Season 5 aired on 10th March. Episode 12 goes out tonight (17th) on History.

Derry Hughes

Season 6b I was mistaken

Kieran

E4 have started to advertise their new show ‘Maxxx’ they say its coming soon. So i would assume its coming in April

Season 2 of Kidding will air on Sky Comedy on Tuesday March 31st time tbc according to trailers which aired on Sky One last night.

Selina Roe

I’ve read today that due to the covid-19 pandemic lots of Netflix shows are cancelled or delayed including stranger things series 4

Dave Elliott

Yes, that is true. We ran an article about the pandemic’s effect here https://www.geektown.co.uk/2020/03/14/as-coronavirus-shuts-down-hollywood-what-happens-now/

Basically everything is shutdown at the moment. Almost all drama, comedy and live shows have paused shooting. It has also affected the pilots which would usually shoot now ready for the upfront presentations in May. This is likely to have a huge knock-on effect for the Autumn season of US programming too, as a number of new shows may not be ready in time.

It’s also affecting things currently broadcasting in the US – i.e. the finale of Supernatural hasn’t been shot yet, and there are still episodes left to shoot with shows like the Chicagos and New Amsterdam. In some cases, like Supernatural, it’s likely the finale will be delayed. With things like the Chicagos, they may just end the season early.

Sophie

It certainly is annoying. I’ve been waiting for Empire S6 since last year and was really disappointed when I realised that it wasn’t being shown. Fingers crossed, we’ll still get it but we’ll be way behind. Hopefully the boxset will still come out here though and we’ll be able to buy it. The U.S. are so lucky. Countries like that are really lucky to get the shows and then we’re always the ones left waiting however long to find that we might not actually get the chance to see it.

Sally-Ann OAkes

Anyone know where The Sinner s3 has disappeared to? Why has it gone from 6/3 release date to ‘unknown’? Was looking forward to bingeing on it today!

Dave Elliott

Yes, for some unknown reason, Netflix switched the date, as it was listed as coming earlier this month, then they removed it… Not sure why!

Yvonne

Any idea if the Australian TV show “Playing For Keeps” will come to the UK? Would love to watch it here!

Jamie

I’ve got a feeling that E4 will be following suite with Netflix and will be waiting until Charmed season 2 has finished then air it here. I don’t watch it but seeing what happened with The CW contract with Netflix I’m not surprised E4 have had the same problem with CW shows.

Jaco Moss

E4 will be airing Season 7 of Robot Chicken on Saturday March 21st at 12:05am from Radio Times schedules

Digiguide has batwoman starting Sun 22/3 @ 9pm – can this be trusted?

Dave Elliott

No, that’s wrong. Digiguide is a useful source, but they do sometimes put in unconfirmed dates. E4 locked Week 13 (inc 22/3) today, and 9pm is Anchorman 2.

Danny

Ah I see – I guess that means they are also wrong about Supernatural following it at 10pm! Oh well..

Edward Perkins

Grey’s Anatomy Spinoff Station 19 has been Renewed for a 4th Season by ABC.

Any word of when FBI is coming back? Interesting to see when Sky air it now that it’s having a crossover with Chicago PD.

Kieran

FBI is likely not back until The Rookie finishes. The Rookie finale airs May 28th so if thats the case then FBI will be back first week in June (thats if it follows how Season 1 aired)

Dave Elliott

I can’t see any reference to them actually doing a crossover. I know Dick Wolf had said he’d like to do it, but I can’t see any confirmation of them actually confirming it’s happening. Tricky to organise too, as the Chicagos are NBC shows whilst the FBIs are CBS.

Sinéad

Some of the Chicago PD cast were spotted filming in New York with the FBI cast just before the productions were shut down. I think it was supposed to have been a surprise crossover but people took pictures.

Bex johnson

Any ideas on a mini series called station eleven? And if it will air in the UK? Might be too early to know?

Kieran

Any news on when Family Guy will return with new episodes on ITV2. Is it likely to be this month or next

Mike

No date yet but they had a trailer for new episodes ‘coming soon’.

Selina Roe

ITV2 have shown the adverts as u may have seen by now family guy is returning Monday 23rd march

Colette Aitken

Still nothing on Greys Anatomy? Ridiculous! I’m telling you sky had a tantrum about WWE ending the contract so now they will not renew anything. Batwoman is on E4 and that’s part of the arrowverse

Jamie

I totally agree. Another thing that’s annoying is when they changed Universal TV the git rid of The Resident which is on Fox in the US which is also a Disney problem lol!

It’s all one big pain in the head. My bets are sky will be getting rid of any shows related to Disney (ABC, Fox, Freeform) to save cost. I did read though and don’t take my word for it that Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1, Station 19 could show up on a new Sky channel later this year. It’s rumours as yet.

John Henderson

Hi, just finished watching end of Public Enemy Season two, Belgian abduction thriller, broadcast on Sky Atlantic. As usual, view left on cliff edge with huge twist, implying there is Season Three.

Any one know if Season three is coming or any further details. Googled for more for but not much joy.

Kieran

I messaged Sky about the arrowverse shows. And they replied saying they return the week of March 30th starting with Supergirl

Lisa Strachan

lost in space renewed for a 3rd and final season at netflix.

Sophie

Does anyone know any information on when or if Empire will be shown on tv in the UK?

Sophie Coles

Oops I meant to say season 6

Dave Elliott

Another tricky one. Firstly, it’s on 5Star in the UK and their scheduling is random at the best of times… Also when they aired Season 5 part 2, it was bumped to 11.20pm, which *may* not be a good sign of them wanting to bring it back. Plus it’s a Fox show, which means 20th Television is the distributor… which means Disney, and we know Sky are struggling with deals their for Greys, Station 19 and 9-1-1…

So basically… don’t know, but my gut says it’s unlikely. Not impossible, but unlikely. Best bet would be waiting to see if it comes on to Amazon Prime, who have seasons 1 to 5.

Jamie

This year has been a pain with all the contract changes, shows being held back, shows not turning up. So disappointing when other countries like Canada are miles ahead with getting shows straight away and contracts.

Sophie

Thanks Dave for letting me know. I’ve been checking the TV guide each week hoping it’ll come on but guess you’re right, my best bet would be to wait for the boxset to be released on amazon later this year.

Kieran

Do you think we’re still gonna get the final season of Agents of SHIELD on E4 or will it go to Disney+ when it starts in the summer

Andrew

Any News yet if we’re going to get the latest (and final) series of How to get away with murder? Thanks

Dave Elliott

No, it was June last year, so maybe June again… Although… it is also an ABC show, and those are the ones we’re having issues with at the moment (Grey’s, Station 19, 9-1-1), so it’s possible it might be tied up with the rest of the Disney drama renewals.

Les Cave

PENANCE starts on channel 5 on the 17th march at 9 pm

Les Cave

It’s on for 3 consecutive nights

Edward Perkins

Brand New US Crime HBO Drama The Undoing Starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland starts on Monday 18th May 2020 on Sky Atlantic in The United Kingdom.

Anne March

No Grey’s Anatomy on the Disney+ list ??

scuttler

Greys Anatomy and any other “adult” ABC shows were never going to be on Disney+. They may have been delayed because of the same overall negotiations between Sky and Disney but that still hasn’t been announced or clarified yet.

Dave Elliott

Yeah, there were suggestions floating around about Grey’s coming to Disney+, but it never seemed likely as Disney+ has a PG13 rating, and I would think Grey’s sits outside that. Sky still maintain they are negotiating for Grey’s, Station 19 and 9-1-1, but no news yet on them managing to finalise anything.
