Do think syfy channel get rebranded since sky own it

    • Edward Perkins says:

According to Mediaboy on Cableforum.co.uk Sky Have Rumored Plans to Launch 2 Brand New Entertainment TV Channels. The Rumour is Sky Two will be rebranding into Sky Drama and The Other Entertainment Channel Sky are Rumoured to be launching is Sky Action but no news on which Sky TV Channel its Replacing It with. But take these Rumours with a piece of salt as things can change as these new channels have not been 100% confirmed by Sky as of yet.

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

At the moment I don’t see them doing a major rebrand on Syfy… although they have just stuck Sky in front of History to make Sky History, so Sky Syfy wouldn’t be out of the question… I would think that would be as far as they would go though.

Regarding the other rumours, rebranding of Sky Two makes sense. It has become a general dumping ground for repeats, and it would be good if they could use it for more premiere shows. Pick would be the other obvious channel to rebrand as Sky “Something”. As you say, only rumours at the moment though.

        • Jay says:

If Sky keep rebranding the shows will all be moved round to fit with the theme I’m assuming. It makes sense that if Sky are rebranding Sky Two into rumoured Sky Drama that might be why Station 19, 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy have been held back and possible why Sky didn’t put all the Universal TV show on there other platforms.

I can only imagine SYFY will change to Sky SYFY.

I have directly tweeted privately messaged Sky regarding Season 7 and Season 8 of The Blacklist and Sky have replied and Said Season 7 of The Blacklist will air in The Summer of 2020 on Sky One and Season 8 of The Blacklist will air Summer 2021 on Sky One providing if there are no production delays.

Info From Sky Help Team Official Twitter Account through a private Message.

    • Lesley Tozer says:

That’s great news love this program.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yeah, that seems likely (bear in mind, the Sky Help Team are not always that accurate), but that tracks with what happened last year. Blacklist has lots of small breaks in the US broadcast, plus a massive break in the middle of it, so Sky moved it to Summer (June) last year to take out the gaps.

  9. Edward Perkins says:

Sky have announced today (Thursday 20th February 2020) that they are Rebranding History Channel into Sky History which will Rebrand this Spring 2020 on Sky and Virgin Media etc. Don’t worry Sky History will still show Vikings and Other Favourite History Programmes Sky & History Channel have confirmed.

  11. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No, it’s not rebranding, Sky Documentaries is taking the Syfy EPG slot. It specifically says “Syfy’s new EPG slot has yet to be confirmed,” so it looks like Syfy will still exist, but be moved to a new EPG slot.

  12. Jaco Moss says:

Season 3 of Back Lighting will premiere on Netflix UK on Thursday March 26th it has been announced.

I hope they don’t move to Disney as I am NOT paying for anymore subscriptions and I love those programs

  14. Les Cave says:

Sandylands starts on Wednesday 4th March on GOLD

  15. Kieran says:

Now that you’ve moved the arrowverse shows to Spring, are they still likely to come in March.

And do you think that E4 could potentially show the Crisis episode of Batwoman first instead of Episode 1

I read somewhere but can’t remember where but they said Sky are potentially discussing with E4 about them showing the crossover episode first so Sky can carry on airing the shows

  16. Mark Sidwell says:

At the moment, something strange is going on as certain shows are not being shown at the usual time. Greys Anatomy is still not shown in UK. Empire and Star are nowhere to be seen and Arrowverse behind schedule.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, it’s to do with a mix of things, such as new services launching, deals changing, and broadcast mergers…

Greys, 911 and Station 19 are all tied to Disney, so I think are being negotiated in the same deal. For whatever reason, that deal doesn’t seem to have closed yet with Sky. No idea why that is, but I suspect it will close at some point.

Arrowverse is trickier, as I suspect the delay there is due to Sky missing out on the rights to Batwoman. It seems they’re working on the assumption that anyone who isn’t prepared to wait for the Crisis episodes has already gone and found them by “other means” (not that we condone pirating shows). At this point it looks like they’re holding them until E4 announces the premiere for Batwoman (which I suspect will land in March), so they can get close to lining up the rest of the Crisis episodes, which means the Arrowverse is going to be late this year.

Empire & Star… It’s the Channel 5 schedulers, and they seem to choose where & when to air shows by pulling names out of a hat, so may or may not show up. 😉

  17. mewdar says:

That’s great news, any idea when it’s likely to hit our screens?

  18. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, looks like Hell’s Kitchen USA was there at some point but got moved. Hopefully it’ll show back up again.

  34. Kieran says:

Still no news on the arrowverse shows?

    • James Hunter says:

I’m curious about this too it looks like their going to be later then ever this year (given that I don’t see a slot for them in early March and they’ve announced nothing for February). Its becoming a concern…

      • Kieran says:

I’m thinking they’re waiting to see it E4 will air the Crisis episode of Batwoman first instead of Episode 1. If they air it all in release order they’ll just bring the shows back in March. If Sky were bringing the arrowverse back at the end of February they would’ve already announced it since there’s only 2 weeks left of February

      • Andrew says:

        They’re (they are) NOT their!

    • Jay says:

I started watching it on More4 but then got Amazon Prime Video and watch all season 1 and first half of season 2. 2nd half of season 2 will be added in May. Your probably looking at October when season 2 starts because amazon has first to air rights.

  42. Kieran says:

Any news on when Comedy Central may start airing Single Parents season 2. Could it be after the season finishes in the US so they can air 2 episodes a week

  43. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, just before Christmas. And no, no new broadcaster yet. Amazon would be possible, but also 5USA as they have been running episodes too. Plus it’s a CBS show, and Viacom (who own the Channel 5 network) merged with CBS just before Christmas.

Hey Dave , any news on when E4 will start showing supernatural again ?

  51. Matt says:

Paradise PD season 2 6th March 2020, Castlevania Season 3 5th March 2020, both Netflix.

  52. Andrew Ward says:

Cool! But I thought somebody said that REALLY had dropped Most Haunted? Unless they have agreed a new deal.

  53. Sorry to be pedantic but Really is now a discovery channel property, not uktv.

  54. Edward Perkins says:

Brand New Most Haunted Season 21 starts Next Friday 14th February 2020 at 10pm on UKTV’s Really Channel.

Info From Sky Q Official EPG TV Guide.

  55. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, that will be Netflix US not UK. As I said before, they will come, either late Feb or early March I suspect… I know it’s frustrating having to wait though.

  56. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Riverdale appears to be the exception at the moment and is still airing weekly. I don’t know if that was due to a deal which was already signed, or if they just decided it was worthwhile to renegotiate a weekly deal specifically for that show. We do know Dynasty (also a WB show) is coming as a boxset later this year, but we don’t know if they’ve completed any deal for Black Lightning or not right now.

  57. Selina Roe says:

Hi I know I seem to endlessly ask this question but I’m wondering if theres any updates on whether supernatural season 14 is going to appear on E4 this year, I can see in the unscheduled its saying possibly in 2020 but wondering if u had more on that at all. Thank u

  58. HTT says:

Are there any updates on Get Shorty S3 coming to Sky Atlantic please? It has even disappeared from your unscheduled/unknown lists. Thank you.

  59. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Possible, although it is a 2hr gap at the moment, so would probably make more sense if it was Station 19 and Grey’s. Plus the 2nd half of 9-1-1 Season 3 doesn’t yet have a premiere date in the US yet, so I suspect they maybe waiting for that before they decide when to run it so they can air it in one block.

  60. Lee says:

I read somewhere but can’t remember where but they say Supergirl is back on Feb 24th at 8pm, Flash is back on Feb 25th at 8pm and Arrow is back Feb 26th at 8pm. Also they say Batwoman is coming to E4 in March

And lastly I read somewhere but can’t remember where but Young Sheldon is supposedly back on February 20th at 8:30pm

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

The Young Sheldon date is definitely wrong as we have E4 locked dates for the 20th, and it isn’t there. Batwoman coming in March is possible though.

The Arrowverse shows *may* be back that week (Feb 24th), as there are potential gaps in the schedule for them, but they aren’t listed there at the moment, so officially they aren’t right now.

      • David says:

Star Trek Discovery season 1 finishes airing on E4 on March 22nd. Could Batwoman potentially replace that on the schedule

      • Jon says:

The thing is, what happens after the Crossover is a result of the crossover. So you really do want to see the crossover. So the changes in the Arrowverse won’t make as much sense unless you do see the crossover first. The one thing I don’t know is if Black Arrow will play a part of the rest of the Arrowverse So far, no.

        • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Some wires crossing there… 😉 You mean Black Lightning not Black Arrow I’m guessing? No, you don’t need to have seen Black Lightning for the crossover to make sense as his episode isn’t a part of it.

  61. Noel says:

6 episode French action thriller series Just One Look starts Friday 7th February 2020 at 9pm on More4.

  62. Noel says:

Series 2 of Belgian crime drama series Public Enemy starts Friday 7th February 2020 on Sky Atlantic. Episode 1 premieres at 2am and is repeated at 9pm while episode 2 premieres at 10pm.
    Info from the Sky Guide.

  63. Steph Wills says:

Sky Witness have finally updated their website saying that Greys Anatony season 16 is coming soon. Any idea of an official date yet?

    • Jon says:

Wat about Station 19 which is now a lot more integrated? The first episode after the December break is a crossover between Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy.

      • Steph Wills says:

I havent heard anything about station 19. But I’m assuming they will link it up nicely like they’ve done with the Chicago franchise. I’m also wondering what they’re doing with all of the shows previously on universal such as The Resident etc..

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Interesting, that would imply they have finally sorted out the deal. Not news yet on dates. We have dates up to the 21st Feb, so it won’t be before then. There is a scheduling gap Wed 26th Feb from 9-11pm with nothing in it right now. It’s *possible* that could be Grey’s and Station 19, but nothing is set there at the moment.

  64. Kieran says:

Is there any news on Goldbergs season 7. I would’ve thought they’d air it at the same time as Schooled

  65. Caroline says:

Hi. Do you know if black lightning has left Netflix?

    • Kieran says:

Both seasons are still on there. They are likely keeping season 3 so they can put it on as a box set once it finishes its run in the US. The finale airs on March 9th in the US so it shouldn’t be too much longer

      • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, that’s what we’re hoping too, although they wouldn’t confirm if they had it either way last time I checked. All the deals with WB changed at the end of last year, and some of the shows moved from being weekly to box sets, so *hopefully* that is what will happen with BL.

        • Jay says:

Will all future shows now be full boxset release. Does that mean after the current season of Riverdale it goes to full boxset.

  66. James Hunter says:

Do we have ANY idea when the Arrowverse shows might be back to Sky One? I’m trying to avoid CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS spoilers but that is getting harder and harder, especially with ARROW having ended now in the US

Dave, have you had any communication with Sky (who, surely, have had 3 of the episodes since December last year…)

    • Karen says:

They might be waiting for the flash to return that way all the arrowverse eps come back at once ( the flash returned last night in the states the 4th February this is only a guess

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No, still no sign of it yet. The press listings go up to 28th Feb, although they aren’t fixed yet, and there are still some gaps around 8pm in that week beginning the 22nd, so they could still pop up. Otherwise it’s likely to be early March. I suspect Batwoman maybe March on E4 too, but will obviously be 9 episodes behind the rest of the Arrowverse when it starts…

      • James Hunter says:

I’ve seen an article saying that all 10 episodes of ARROW are now on Netflix (I assume not the UK Netflix though, but I don’t know) so you’d think that would encourage Sky One to hurry up and air the remining 3 episodes of ARROW…

  72. Kieran says:

So since Hulu is planning to launch internationally in 2021 does that mean The Orville may also move to hulu since it has in the US

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Really hard to say at the moment, as the comment Disney’s Bob Iger was that they “plan” to start expanding the streaming service internationally in 2021, so it’s a bit vague. You have to assume the UK is a top target for them though.

The Orville move to Hulu in the US was more of a practical one for Disney and Seth after Disney bought Fox. It airs on Fox here and there’s no real reason to not carry on airing the show there for the time being as we don’t yet have Hulu. It may move over once Hulu does launch (assuming it does launch…), but I suspect it will stay put for the moment. It’s all still Disney after all. We’ll have to wait and see though. 🙂

  77. Richard O says:

Have Crime & Investigation got exclusive UK TV rights to Homicide Hunter? Currently, on Thursday nights they’re showing the current, ninth season. Including the current season, haven’t seen the most recent four seasons. Hoping they’ll eventually air on another UK TV channel.

Secondly, regarding this coming Friday night’s new seventh season episode of Chicago P.D. called “False Positive”, the synopsis on Sky’s TV listing page is incorrect. It’s showing the synopsis for an episode from the sixth season called “Trigger”.

  79. Jay says:

Has Netflix lost the rights to ATG The Champions or will they be waiting until it’s finished and put the whole box set on. Also is there any plans ITVBe or Itv2 will be showing the Masked Singer USA in the UK.

  80. Nina Long says:

Hi, Is there any news if The Good Place series 4 will be on a UK channel other than Netflix?

  81. Howard says:

Incase it interests anyone the second season of surviving r kelly is being shown on crime+inv two episodes every night starting this monday either at 9 or 10pm

  82. Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No problem, I got what you meant. 🙂 At the moment, no. I suspect the most likely candidate to pick it up would be 5USA. They have aired earlier seasons, and Viacom (who own the 5 channels in the UK) and CBS (who air it in the US and distribute the show) are now one company. No news yet though.

  83. John says:

    Hi Dave,

Do you have any info if Bull has found a new home in Sky?
I know Fix dont have the rights to show the new season but has anyone else picked it up?

    Thanks

  84. Annette says:

Good Karma Hospital series 3 now has a uk air date according to Amanda Redmans Twitter it’s back on 1 March (though who knows why they’ve took so long to air one of their own shows here in the UK but allowed it to be aired overseas already

  85. Mark says:

How comes Superstore was only on for 10 episodes and has stopped already? I know the season had started again in Jan in US so couldn’t they just carry on?

    • Mike says:

Itv2 broadcast Superstore nightly whereas in the US it’s weekly. If they’re going to broadcast the rest of the show nightly then Itv2 have to wait until the run has ended in the US.

  86. Richard O says:

Can you update the UK Air Dates and UK Premiere Dates for TV Shows page please, along with the Geektown page for 48 Hours, to say that Season 32 of 48 Hours started in the UK on CBS Reality on Thursday 2nd January, 2020 at 8 pm.

Also, Midsomer Murders’ 21st season started on ITV on Tuesday 21st January, 2020 at 8 pm.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Thanks Richard, those are updated. I hadn’t realised Midsomer Murders was technically on a new season as the last few episodes of Season 20 were only a weeks ago.

      • Richard O says:

Yes, there were six episodes in the 20th series/season of Midsomer Murders (watched the fourth episode of it last weekend, and there are two episodes left to watch). Apparently (based on the ‘i’ newspaper), the remaining episodes from the 20th series/season had been left on the shelves since three years ago.

The second episode of the 21st series/season premieres on ITV tomorrow night at 8 pm.

  87. Jay says:

Sky Two would be a good choice but change it’s name to Sky Drama.

  88. Alice says:

So I’ve seen adverts for the coroner season 2 on universal early February, but obviously we don’t have universal anymore, do you know whether we will still get this just on another channel?

    • Phunkenstein says:

I can easily imagine this will move over to Sky Witness at some point. It was reported here it did very well for Universal when it launched…

      https://tbivision.com/2019/02/04/cbcs-coroner-becomes-highest-rated-series-launch-in-four-years/

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

The only thing I have from Sky is that they are “very mindful of followers of these Universal shows” (I was asking about Coroner, Private Eyes, The Resident and Burden Of Truth)… but it seems the press team can’t get the scheduling team to commit to placing the shows anywhere yet… So still up in the air. It does give the impression they do want to air them somewhere though.

      • Jon says:

I do have a solution that would work very well for Sky. What Sky can do is make Sky Two HD and then air them on Sky Two. Since all Sky customers have a DVR, overlapping with other shows won’t be an issue.

        • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

That would actually be an excellent idea, as Sky Two is a very under used channel. I doubt they would do it, but it would be a great option to move the Universal shows there.

          • Alice says:

Thanks for all the comments, as long as we get it eventually I’ll take that, and keep looking on here for any updates xx

          • helen raybould says:

but not everyone can afford to have sky people seem to think we are made of money and can just splash out 60-100 dollars pound sterling or watever currency a month some people actually budget with a small amount of money just to be able to have a few channels to watch im actually gonna miss so much tv coz I cant afford to upgrade to sky I feel so ailiented and im sure there are others in the same boat as me

When can we expect news on the arrowverse return dates. It’s usually around late January

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

When they get round to announcing them… It has been late Jan/early Feb when they have announced in the past. I can say, at the moment, I can’t see any sign of them on the advanced schedules, and they go up to mid-Feb (although, they aren’t set in stone and can change). I suspect we’re looking at very late Feb or early March for the Arrowverse’s return though.

  90. Alan says:

When is Bosch back? It’s usually in the spring.

  96. Jonathan says:

Any idea if RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 will be shown on Netflix the day after on 1 March 2020? That’s what they normally do… Please add RPDR above!

  97. Edward Perkins says:

According to Broadcastnow.co.uk Sky could be closing in on a new deal with Disney for Exclusive rights to to The Disney+ Streaming Service. If this deal does go ahead then The Disney+ Service will not launch on Virgin Media & BT. The Disney+ Streaming Service will have the same deal as Netflix on Sky if this deal goes ahead. But also Mobile Company EE Is also in talks with Disney for deal with the disney+ Streaming Service. You can get disney+ Streaming Service via Amazon Fire TV Sticks and LG & Samsung TVs when it launches on March 24th 2020 in The United Kingdom.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Hi Edward. Not sure if you misread/misinterpreted it, or they changed the article, but wanted to clarify. The deal doesn’t actually stop Disney+ launching on Virgin Media & BT. If it goes through, it’s a non-exclusive deal, so Disney+ can still launch wherever they like. Disney would just have to do deals with Virgin Media & BT to get it on their platforms.

All it would really mean is that Disney+ could be integrated into the Sky box the same way the integrated Netflix. It will still operate as an independent service too, as Netflix does. You’ll still be able to get it outside of Sky. 🙂

So angry when uk gonna get crossover right with Chicago series tonight should been fire media then pd

But they put med fire and the pd on

    • Simon says:

No they didn’t. It was in the right order. In fact they swapped the running order of the shows this week so they would be shown correctly. I guarantee it was correct. In fact, as Fire was on at 8, before the 9pm watershed, it was so cut, I watched the download version which was complete. Not sure what happened for you, but they definitely showed them in the correct order for the crossover.

Any news about when 9-1-1 starts. I’m hoping it starts in February

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

No sign of it yet unfortunately… It could be that they’re waiting until the 2nd half of the season begins to air in the US, which would put it in March/April. It wasn’t highlighted in the advance March press stuff, although that could be because a deal isn’t signed yet. We’ll post when we have something.

  123. Jay says:

Has anyone else been noticing Disney content on Netflix has gone. There’s no Disney Prime Video only can buy or rent disney films on amazon. Is the same thing happening with Sky. Can someone check. Just curious.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

A few of the movies are still on Sky at the moment (spotted Aladdin and Captain Marvel), but they are slowly vanishing… which makes sense. Disney+ launches at the end of March, so why would Disney put them on other competing streaming services.

      • Jodie says:

You can check on the Now TV website (without needing to be a customer) as they list “streaming until” dates for all Sky Cinema films. The dates vary across this year and next year, so hopefully those are correct and don’t suddenly change?!

For example, Aladdin says “streaming until 15th April 2021” and Captain Marvel says 31st Jan 2021.

Plus plenty of others, such as Avengers: End Game 18th March 2021 and slightly older ones like Thor 20th Dec 2020 (although Thor: The Dark World only 23rd June 2020).

There are still lots of much older Disney films available too like Hook, The Chronicles of Narnia, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Swan Princess, Princess and the Frog, The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, Lady and the Tramp, A Bug’s Life, Tarzan, The Jungle Book, Finding Nemo and many more! The majority have streaming until dates of late summer or autumn this year, with even a few into spring/summer 2021.

        • Jodie says:

Just to add that I can see at least 10 older or slightly older Disney films that were specifically added to Sky Cinema (well, re-added since they’re older and will have been available at a previously point in time) on 1st Jan 2020 and are set to be removed 31st Dec 2020, so it will be a bit odd for them to suddenly disappear so soon after being added when Disney already knew they were launching Disney+? Perhaps they are still under contract? Or aren’t planned to be part of Disney+ initially? Or otherwise they’re just going to be on both services regardless, either by choice or by contract?

  124. Jaco Moss says:

Damon Lindelof has said that he doesn’t want to do Season 2 of Watchmen but is fine with HBO doing Season 2 without him.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Yes, Lindelof pretty much said that from the start, that this was a self-contained thing. The difference is now HBO have said they don’t want to do a 2nd Season without Lindelof, which is fair enough. I’m actually okay with that. It works as a single story mini-series.

  125. Gary says:

Strike Back final season advertised on YouTube as starting on 14th Feb

  126. Jaco Moss says:

Sky One are moving Jett to 11pm

  127. Jay says:

How can I find out if The Resident will be getting bought by another network in the UK. Seems strange Sky are not going to show it on Sky Witness. Maybe they just didn’t buy the rights to season 3 because of Sky changing Universal into Sky Comedy.

    • Dave Elliott Dave Elliott says:

Still trying to get an update from Sky on this. From conversations with the press team, they haven’t confirmed but it does *sound* like they do have the rights for the shows still, they just can’t get the scheduling dept to commit to placing them anywhere… Bear in mind, i’d describe the scheduling dept as being in some dark nether realm and trekking to it to extract information is somewhat like trying to enter Mordor… 😉 The press guys did say they are “very mindful” that the Universal shows have a following… I suspect they will show up, it is just a case of when…

  128. Jonathan says:

Does anyone know if Netflix will be showing Season 2 of America’s Got Talent: The Champions? Would’ve thought the first episode would be up by now if they had…
