Couple of Notes on Commenting…

TIPS FOR POSTING It is always extremely helpful when people post dates, times and information below. It is useful in keeping the list as current as possible and makes for a great community spirit. But when posting, please remember the following:

1) Use full programme titles. As instantly recognisable as abbreviations may be to someone who watches that show, to someone who doesn’t, it is just a meaningless collection of letters that have to be looked up.

2) If a bit of information is a rumour, please say so – we can list it as such, pending confirmation

3) If something comes from a reputable source, please quote that source, so we all know it is not just a rumour.

Thank you.

Simon

Dave, this isn’t something that normally falls under your “ to do” list, but I wonder if you might know why or could find out why Sky cancelled its ‘Never miss’ facility. I know there’s virtually hundreds of other extremely hacked off Sky subscribers who have found this service cancelled without ANY advance warning. All the programmes I and others have added to our lists in order to , well, never miss and to receive email notifications from Sky have now gone. It’s a strange, annoying thing to have done and not exactly the pinnacle of good customer service. Thank you

BSF74

I’ll second this comment

Paul Dormer

When did that happen? I use that all the time. Was there an e-mail about it? I know I got notification just a couple of weeks ago for a film I wanted to see.

BSF74

Happened around 19th May

BSF74

And no warning of any kind

Dave Elliott

I’ll ask and see if I can get an answer from the Sky press team.

Someone did ask about me adding that sort of feature to this site, but I need to wrap my head around whether it is logistically possible with how I have things set up at the moment. It would need some sort of login so you can store your show lists which is possible, but something I don’t have running at the moment, and potentially makes things a lot more complicated!

Simon

Thanks Dave. I know how busy you are, but this is a major issue to so many Sky subscribers. Anything you can find out is appreciated

Mark

I did tweet them about it last week but they didn’t even give a reason why. Just seems like they don’t care that so many people used to use it. Madness as it was my go to place for reminders. They told me to just use the what’s new option on sky box!

Paul Dormer

I’ve been using both nevermiss and this site as a belt and braces approach to looking out for returning shows, checking what you have starting in the coming week. Although nevermiss also told you if a particular film was coming up. (They’d sometimes miss one, though.)

BSF74

Thanks Dave, much appreciated

Paul Dormer

Just had a look at the Sky Community forums and the wailing there is intense. There are superusers on the forums called Oracles and they were given some advance warning but because of their agreement with Sky they can’t reveal the reason for it being dropped, but one of them described it as “pathetic”. 🙁

helen raybould

im a bt subscriber but I frequently use sky.com for the never miss for myself and for my best friend as we both like the same kind of programmes so to see no never miss on the sky website had me miffed and annoyed I hope dave can get an answer from sky that is acceptable

Andrew

LA’s Finest starts on Thursday 11th June.

Trailer aired on Fox

Caroline

Hey will we see Star girl over here do you think?

Dave Elliott

I hope so. It’s an odd one as it was a DC Universe show and they have ended up at various broadcasters here (Doom Patrol on Starzplay, Titans on Netflix, Swamp Thing on Amazon). However, it is also on The CW, and Berlanti is involved so it’s possible it could get roped into Arrowverse crossovers in the future, which means Sky may have an interest. No news yet though.

Kieran

Does anyone know why Comedy Central stopped showing the new season of Bob’s Burgers and when it will return. I think they stopped around episode 11

Jaco Moss

Season 2 of FBI will receive its UK Premiere on Sky Witness on Thursday July 9th at 9pm
Trailer aired during Season Finale of The Rookie.

Jaco Moss

You have Cardinal down on BBC Four when it has moved to BBC Two. and NCIS New Orleans starts on July 17th not June 17th
Season 3 of Agatha Raisin will receive its UK Premiere on Sky One on Wednesday June 10th at 9pm with a Double Bill.
Also Frankie Drake Mysteries has been renewed for a 4th Season.

Info from TV Wise

Kieran

You have NCIS New Orleans down for June 17th. But I heard it starts on July 17th

Dave Elliott

Sorry, typo (or box checking error!), you are correct. I’ve updated it. 🙂

Dave Elliott

Pay tv and free-to-air rights are different (sometimes, not always). If Sky do still have pay tv rights, that will probably delay how soon More 4 can air the 2nd Season as they would have to wait until Sky has aired it first, (or that’s usually how it works). More 4 often picks up free-to-air rights for shows as they are cheaper than the Pay tv right due to them airing much later (Outlander, New Amsterdam etc…)

BSF74

I’ve emailed sky viewer relations about if they still have first run rights to the coroner and if so weather they can confirm a start date for S2

Will post back when I get a reply

BSF74

I’ve just heard back from sky and as of yet there is no confirmed date for S2 of coroner on sky witness and advise to keep checking the shows page on sky.com, so it does look like they still have pay tv first run rights

They also mentioned in the email that “the independent channel more4 have also acquired the rights, but they won’t be broadcasting S1 until next year”

Martin Elliot

Sky Witness are repeating season 1 of Coroner from 9th of June , I wonder if they have the Pay TV rights to season 2 ?

Dave Elliott

Ooh… Interesting, so they are. Let me see if I can find out anything.

BSF74

But that surely would defeat the point of more4 acquiring the rights as reported yesterday presumably we’re talking about the Canadian version and not the uk one

Paul Dormer

Hardly.. More4 being free to air and Sky being subscription, more people will be able to see it on 4.

Used to be quite common for shows to appear on a subscription channel and then free to air. I well remember seeing episodes of Buffy on Sky and having to keep quite about it with friends who wouldn’t got to see it for a year when it would appear on the BBC.

Sinéad

Any word when FBI will be back? I thought it might replace the Chicago shows but it doesn’t seem so.

Martin Elliot

FBI season 1 is being repeated daily from 8th of June which suggests a July start date for season 2.

Sarah

Just seen an advert on Sky Witness, FBI returns on 9th July.

Andy Haynes

Now all we need is sky to pick up the rights to FBI most wanted

Edward Perkins

Sky One are Reportedly Repeating US Crime Drama Condor Season 1 Next Tuesday 2nd June 2020 at 10pm. Condor Season 1 was Previously Shown on Universal TV Before Sky Closed The TV Channel Down to make way for Sky Comedy. Condor has already been Renewed for a 2nd Season.

Info From Sky Q EPG.

Sam

Any news on the Love, Victor series? It’s going on hulu in June in America but can’t see anything about UK?

MartyM

I loved Condor, but it hasn’t had much luck. Both its US home (Audience Network) and UK channel (Universal) have both closed. It sounds encouraging that season one is being repeated, but there still seems to be doubt about season two. Even though it has allegedly already been filmed.

Emma

Any news on private eyes? Does sky own it now? Thanks

Dave Elliott

Given that Coroner has gone to More4, I would say no. It looks like those old Universal shows might actually be back on the open market. No news on Private Eyes yet though. I think Channel 5 (or one of their channels) ran older seasons of it though, so it’s possible it may pop up there at some point.

Emma

I did email channel 5 a while back and they said they had no plans to show any episodes, but it could change. I think it would be a good fit with alibi if it is available.

Amanda McBride

Looking for series 1 and 2 of Coroner to be shown in UK.

Also looking for The Resident

Dave Elliott

Well, Coroner, you’re in luck 😀 – https://www.geektown.co.uk/2020/05/26/more4-picks-up-seasons-1-2-of-canadian-drama-coroner/

The Resident hasn’t shown up again anywhere yet.

Paul Dormer

Do we know if they are going straight to season 2 or are they repeating season 1 first? (I’ve seen s1, but I’d guess many More4 viewers won’t have.)

Dave Elliott

They’ve picked up Coroner seasons 1 and 2, so they will be repeating season 1 first.

Paul Dormer

Thanks.

So I have a bit longer to wait.

And I don’t know why my earlier posting didn’t come out as a reply. I’m sure I hit the right button.

Edward Perkins

More 4 has Picked Up Canadian Crime Drama Coroner previously shown on Universal TV Before Sky Closed The TV Channel Down to make way for Sky Comedy.

Info From Broadcastnow website.

BSF74

After watching s1 been waiting for news on s2, does it give a start date?

Edward Perkins

I couldn’t see the article in full because you have to subscribe to the website.

Dave Elliott

No, there’s no start date at the moment.

Jaco Moss

HBO Max’s Gossop Girl Reboot has been pushed back to 2021 because of the Coronavirus
Info From Radio Times Website

Emma

I sent an email to channel 4 asking about The Goldbergs and Schooled, they just replied and said they are on a break and they don’t have a broadcast date for future episodes at the moment.

Jamie Allender

Hi
How can I watch the batgirl episode of crisis on infinity ear to the earths

Jon

E4 have decided to run the Batwoman crisis episode at the end of the series. So if you want to watch the crisis episodes in order, you’ll have to record all of the shows starting at the 9th episode and wait until they are all run and then you can watch the crisis episodes and then binge from there.

Jeff Davison

Its just typical game playing by a broadcaster
Their reasoning after i berated them was wholly unjustified. I quote ” its a stand alone segment so we decided to put it at the end.” Complete bunkum. If it is, put it on online, there’s no need to get the back up of the consumer. Typic arrogance of C4 just no clue as to customer satisfaction.

Simon

If you want, the Crisis on Infinite Earths DVD is already available at Amazon. All 5 episodes, £6.99

Bobby Jay

The Crisis episode of Batwoman is available on iTunes for £2.49. I will be experimenting with iTunes returns policy once I have watched it.

Jon

You do realize that Apple will know you’ve watched Batwoman before you’ve returned it. Also, I think it’s not a good idea to try to cheat Apple just to watch it for free. You bought it, you keep it. You can also buy it from Amazon for £2.49.

Michael

I agree, how cheap and desperate must you really be if you need to try and con a company out of £2.49 just to watch a tv show episode for free, really ??

Paul Dormer

Ultimately, it always comes down to money. If the shows don’t make money, they’re not going to make them.

Matt

Also, technically it’s not necessary to watch three different platforms to see all of crisis. You only ‘need’ sky as eventually E4 will show the batwoman episode meaning crisis will be shown all on one platform.
Having watched Black Lightening, whilst it does link in and for a complete story of crisis you should watch it, it is no-one near being essential watching, if you haven’t been watching black lightening from season 1 I wouldn’t bother just for crisis.

Mark

Any news on when Hell’s Kitchen USA might be back on ITV2?

James Hunter

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS needs updating, we have a date for that (17th July), also is there still no hint when we might get AGENTS OF SHIELD season 7 and whether it will be on E4 or Disney Plus?

BSF74

I do hope E4 get first run rights to S7 of agent’s of shield having watched the first six seasons be devastating not to see the conclusion as I have no intention of subscribing to Disney+

Jay

Season 1-6 is on Amazon Prime so I don’t think it’ll be on Disney+ anytime soon. E4 still own to first to air rights.

BSF74

Saw an ad at the end of ncis s17 epi 20 on fox saying ncis s6 would start on fox July 17th 2020 9pm, how come the relevant pages of geektown have yet to be updated?

BSF74

Sorry meant ncis New Orleans

Andy Haynes

I enjoy this Web site its really informative it’s great to get the info on air dates and renewed or cancelled shows but the pop up ads are absolutely infuriating I know they are needed to help cover the costs but they are very intrusive and way too many

Any idea what’s happening with next weeks (27/5) episodes of The Goldbergs/Schooled? Neither are showing up on the Sky EPG.

Emma

It’s strange. They’re not showing on 3rd June either. Both days are showing gogglespogs instead

Coral

I came here to find out the same thing. Has anyone had any updates? I don’t trust e4 very much at the moment after moving supernatural and skipping the batwoman crisis episodes lol
