In a move that probably doesn’t come a huge surprise, Sky 1 have picked up The Blacklist: Redemption, the spin-off from the main Blacklist show, it has been announced.
The show follows Liz’s husband Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) as he teams up with his mother Susan ‘Scottie’ Hargrave (Famke Janssen) as they combine their unique skills and shadowy contacts to solve deadly problems that governments daren’t touch.
In the series premiere, Tom heads to New York for an appointment with his father’s attorney about his estate. However, the trip proves to be anything but routine when Scottie ropes him into helping her rescue a kidnapped CIA agent. Meanwhile, Tom’s relationship with his mother is complicated when a figure from his past gets in touch, and shocks him with possible evidence of a conspiracy within his family.
The series, which started out as a ‘backdoor pilot’ on the main show, tapped David Amann, who previously served as showrunner on Castle, as showrunner and exec producer.
The 8 episode first season of The Blacklist: Redemption is currently set to air at the of March on Sky 1.
