The 2020 Annual Geektown Awards!
We are back! Welcome to the 9th Annual Geektown Awards, which returns once again to give you, the residents and visitors to Geektown, the chance to vote on your favourite shows, films and games of the last 12 months.
Not only that, by voting, you’ll be entered into our MASSIVE AWARDS GIVEAWAY, where you could win a ridiculously HUGE box of geeky goodies! Along with the massive main prize, we also have an awesome Mystery Box runner-up prize too!
Whilst 2020 has been… an interesting year… it hasn’t stopped broadcasters producing another phenomenal set of tv programming on both sides of the Atlantic, so we want to know what YOU liked the best. The Geektown Awards gives you the chance to pick the shows you found yourself binge-watching until 3am or glued to whilst you were stuck in lockdown. Which film you managed to venture out to the cinema to see, or enjoyed from your sofa on a streaming service. For the gamers, we want to know what you’ve played so much, you’re afraid to look at your “hours played” stats.
All you have to do is fill out the form below, and you’ll be entered into the prize draw for the MASSIVE AWARDS GIVEAWAY! And even if you miss out on winning the main prize, you’re still in with a chance to win our Mystery Box runner-up prize!

How We Picked The Shortlists
So, you may be looking at the list below thinking “why isn’t X TV Show/Movie on there?”… There are 2 reasons for this.
Firstly, we can’t have every show/movie/game released this year on the list, so we had to cut it down. This was done by the getting the Geektown staff to vote on a “long list” and make suggestions until the list was a more manageable, “shortlist”, size. I’m sure some of you will have opinions on our shortlists, so feel free to add your comments below on this page.
Secondly, eligible shows need to have premiered on a broadcaster or streaming service in the UK between 1st Dec 2019 and 30th Nov 2020.
Competition Rules
The winners of the Annual Geektown Awards are determined by public votes cast on geektown.co.uk from the shortlists selected by the Geektown staff.
Anyone can vote, BUT to win the prize you:
Must be based in the UK (including Northern Ireland.)
Must be over the age of 12.
There will be 2 winners picked from valid entries using the form on this page – one for the main prize, and one for the runner-up prize.
The competition closed on 31st December 2020.
Click here to read the full rules for competitions on Geektown.
Come on Supernatural #WinchestersForever Carry On Wayward Sons
Some rather hard choices.
Hard choices there, some missing but can’t have all shows or films
That was hard to choose from top list ??
Great list of nominees, love the show too. The Queens Gambit was the main omission for me on the limited series category, but you can’t include them all. Cheers
Was The Good Place not nominated because E4 stopped showing it half way through or because it was on Netflix in 2019?
It’s because it was on Netflix in 2019. The shows have to have premiered on UK tv in 2020, and The Good Place premiered on Netflix. The E4/4Music run was a second run not a premiere (I do also love that show though!) 🙂
Favourite tv show, I couldnt decide between Battlestar Galactica or The Golden Girls!..Number Six won over Dorothy Zbornak 🙂
Missing Warrior from the list, closest thing to Game of Thrones since Game of Thrones!!
Honorable mention to Lovecraft County & Cobra Kai (cheesy but feelgood)
It was good doing this
Even if I don’t win, it’s been fun to participate.Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
Shame legends of tommorow not on list, it’s brilliant
Anyone who hasn’t seen Happy yet get on it trust me once you’ve watched it (even if it looks a little weird) it will be getting your vote!!!!
Considering Dave’s love for the Good Place and the fact I think that is the only Comedy I watch – can my vote go to that 🙂

Great competition but a couple of the categories have a list programmes that I haven’t watched any of so how can I pick the best? This means I cant complete the poll. You could do with having ‘none of the above’ as an option too 🙂
Best TV show in my opinion was The Haunting Of Hill House, and Brigette Lundy-Paine who plays Casey (the sister) in Atypical is the definite stand out female performance.
Geeks shall inherit the Earth! Incredible giveaways – good luck to all
Nice prizes for whoever wins
What an awesome prize! All the things I love – nothing I have! Fingers and toes crossed. I could do with this since moving to a new house ?

The Flash 100%!
This year has been very good for TV shows, particularly Gotham, The Flash, The 100 and alot more. If I has the option to choose more than one of the list below then i would have chosen 6 out of the 8 TV shows as they are all amazing and fantastic. 🙂
great program and story.
.
Not sure about most of these… think I’ve chosen the best of a bad bunch. Soz. 🙁
great prizes thanks
Okay… Just checking. You do realise there’s more than one question up there?
You need to hit the ‘next’ link and fill out the whole form. 🙂
loved the 100
The 100-without question
not enamoured of any of them but this was the best of the bunch
Breaking Bad was brilliant
It was, but finished airing in 2013. 🙂
(Edit: I’ve deleted this because you really ought not publish your address on the Internet) . If you need to contact us, please do so by email.
It was a hard choice but for me penny dreadful was the best and most original but being a comic book fan have to say I really gots ma geek on to flash Gotham and constantine
I would have choosen the Walking dead had it been included
Difficult to choose, but I finally settled on The 100. Thanks for the chance. ???? ????
I was a little worried about this influx of TV Shows based on films but with Hannibal and Sleepy Hollow being as good as they are. I decided to dive right in with Fargo, this was a damn good show and I really enjoyed not just the story but the characters themselves.
Some great new shows but Gotham has managed to capture the feel of Batman, without the Batman. Very interested to see where they take the stories.
Love this site, great up to date info, on all my favourite shows
This one crazy, cool awesome website that I stumbled upon by accident after doing a search on the movie Gotham. and I am so glad that I found this website, because I will be visiting it frequently now
merry christmas
Loved filling in the form it was hard to choose on some things, we have great television. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all and long may your good site continue xx
Let’s try our luck.

Won’t let me submit the form either, I’m getting the same ‘cheating?’ message… 🙁
Great company. Lot of fun
Thanks for running this competition.
Great comp –
Here’s hoping!!!
Great prizes, also enjoyed reading the new series coming up for 2014?
I thought The Escape Artist was one of the best drama series that I have seen
Lets hope
Great prize finger crossed
The pop ups on this site are somewhat irritating.
It won’t allow me to submit the form – keeps saying Invalid none – Cheating? Don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but can you help please?
Downton Abbey

I would love to win this prize!
I look like a geek so might as well embrace the geek for a decent prize 🙂
Fingers cross that I win (I haven’t won anything before :/)
True there have been some brilliant shows this year but I feel Selfridge outshines the whole lot, class acting from the whole cast not just some of the cast as is the problem with most others.
Regards Terrad ,,,
Terry, I agree, Mr Selfridge seems to come under he radar. Well pointed out.
cool prizes
Great prizes and a nice choice of nominees
Nice Mind.
Excellent
Great prize.
a great prize on offer, and the geek town awards are the best..recommending shows usual polls don,t consider.
good
There Should have been a category for all time best/hall of fame type of thing but then I would have had to try and choose between Fringe and Lost!
Interesting! A lifetime achievement kind of thing. An idea for future awards, although if we did that, as I think you’ve shown, results would be skewed towards the most recent 20% of content.
A shame Avatar is not coming out next year – I would have voted for that!
Dr Who
Grrreat prize
Great giveaway
fab competition from an amazing company! Fingers crossed!!!
Brilliant fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!
Winning this wonderful prize, to me is akin to catching a rainbow in a jar……Magic!
Fantastic prize. Fingers crossed 🙂
good luck for everyone
Fingers crossed!
Nice
Was a little surprised that Destiny wasn’t on the list of most looked forward to games next year, so I added it. But then maybe it’ll be delayed to 2015 anyway.
great price!!!
Dab prizes!
wooooo
fab prize
Fabulous prize from an amazing site. Fingers crossed!!
There’s such a lot of good stuff on TV at the moment ( and quite a bit of not so good!)
I still think Maisie Williams (Arya) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau were the better Game of Thrones actors this season but I still love the awards!
Wow, never thought I would have to choose between Living Dead and Game of Thrones…
Damn some of those were hard choices to make!!!!
Well, we can’t have it being easy for you. 😉 Sooo many good tv shows this year! 🙂
