Syfy Sets January UK Premiere Date For ‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Season 3
Syfy UK has set a January premiere date for the 3rd and final season of ‘Marvel’s Runaways‘ the broadcaster has announced today.
Based on the 2003 comic book by Brian K. Vaughan (Buffy Season 8, Saga) and Adrian Alphona (Ms. Marvel, Uncanny X-Force), the series follows six L.A. teens who stumble onto a terrible secret and realise their parents have been lying to them all their lives. But what are their parents after? And why? While the kids investigate, the adults start to wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own. The parents close in on the truth just as the kids uncover a plan with devastating consequences. Now, this unlikely crew of teenagers must band together to stop their parents before it’s too late.
If you remember the finale to Season 2, the first two season’s “big bad” Jonah, along with the rest of his alien family, had possessed various members of Pride. So now the Runaways are having to deal with their parents and the beings that have hijacked their bodies. To make things worse, it seems one of them may have also infected one of their own group.
As we head into season 3, the Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina. The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie.. or more accurately, the child she’s carrying. Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face.
The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Wesiman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, and Elizabeth Hurley.
As you can see in the trailer, the Runaways are getting a little extra backup this season, when they are visited by ‘Cloak & Dagger’ aka Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph). Don’t worry if you haven’t seen any of ‘Cloak & Dagger’, which airs on Amazon Prime in the UK. This is more of a guest appearance than a full-blown crossover, so you don’t need to be up to date with their show to enjoy their visit. ‘Cloak & Dagger’ aired on Freeform in the US, but was cancelled by the network after 2 Seasons.
‘Marvel’s Runaways‘ Season 3 premieres Wednesday, 8th January 2020 at 2am on Syfy UK with a repeat airing at 9pm.
