‘Warrior Nun’ Returning For Season 3 Or Movie According To Creator

Six months after Warrior Nun was cancelled by Netflix, it seems the beloved comicbook drama is (somewhat appropriately) being resurrected, according to creator Simon Barry.

“Today I’m happy to officially report that because of your combined voices, passion and amazing efforts – Warrior Nun will return and is going to be more EPIC than you could imagine,” said Barry on social media. “More details to come! SOON! Thank you!!”

From ‘Ghost Wars’ and ‘Continuum’ creator Simon Barry, ‘Warrior Nun’ revolves around a 19-year-old woman who woke up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artefact embedded in her back. She discovered she was now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.

The series stars Portuguese actress Alba Baptista in the lead role as Ava. She is joined by Tristán Ulloa (‘Terminator: Dark Fate’) as Father Vincent, Kristina Tonteri-Young as Sister Beatrice, Lorena Andrea (‘No Man’s Land’) as Sister Lilith, Toya Turner as Shotgun Mary, and Thekla Reuten (‘Stan Lee’s Lucky Man’) as Jillian Salvius.

The drama was originally cancelled by Netflix after two seasons back in December 2022, but fans of the series continued to be very vocal in their support for the show, and that dedication seems to have paid off. Reports are suggesting that the revival will either be a shortened final season or possibly a movie designed to give fans closure. It also will not be on Netflix, so we don’t yet know where it will air.

We don’t yet know when or where this iteration of ‘Warrior Nun‘ will land but if you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
