Fox have order a ‘script commitment plus significant penalty’ for a new buddy cop drama from X-Men: First Class co-writer Sheldon Turner and producer/director McG it has been announced. What makes this show different from most buddy cop dramas is in this case, one of the cops is imaginary…
After a mild mannered detective struggles with a psychological trauma, he’s finding it hard to get the job done. To help him move on, he invents an imaginary rogue partner to help push him through his days on the ‘mean streets’ of San Francisco.
The show, which was known as ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’, but is currently untitled, will be written by Turner and McG will direct, assuming it goes to pilot. The production company is 20th Century Fox TV.
This is McG’s second new show at Fox this season, having also landed a ‘put pilot’ for a series loosely based on 1965’s I Spy, being written by House creator David Shore. He’s also EP on the new Lethal Weapon tv series, Shadowhunters, and the beloved and long running Supernatural.
