One man and his very good boy partner are back in the UK as UKTV’s Alibi sets a May premiere date for Hudson & Rex Season 6, returning with a double-bill.

‘Hudson & Rex’ stars John Reardon (‘Van Helsing’, ‘Continuum’) as Detective Charlie Hudson and his intrepid German Shepherd Rex (the fabulously named good boy, Diesel von Burgimwald) back on the trail of St. John’s most devious criminals. Together, they investigate puzzling crimes, from a kidnapping which reveals a much larger conspiracy at play to an art theft murder which runs deep into the world of high society. With Charlie’s deft detective work and Rex’s keen canine senses, this crime-fighting pair is unstoppable.

In the opener of season six, titled “Ghost Ship”, a local whale-watching boat mysteriously returns to the harbour without its passengers, so Charlie and Rex must race against time to find the missing tourists. That will be followed by “The Good, the Bad and the Rex”, which sees a pair of armed robbers rip through St. John’s, meaning Charlie and Rex have to work fast to stop them by uncovering the truth behind the spree.

Alongside Reardon, the lighthearted Canadian police procedural also stars Mayko Nguyen (Killjoys), Kevin Hanchard (Orphan Black), and Justin Kelly (Wynonna Earp).

Hudson & Rex’ is produced by Shaftesbury in collaboration with Pope Productions and Germany’s Beta Film. Beta also handles international distribution for the series.

Hudson & Rex‘ Season 6 premieres Sunday, 12th May 2024 at 7pm with a double-bill on UKTV’s Alibi.
