The the ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary are back, as Netflix sets an air date of the 9th June 2017 for Orange Is the New Black Season 5.
Details of the 13 episode 5th season of the Emmy winning dramedy are being kept under wraps for the moment. However, we do know Taylor Schilling (Piper), Laura Prepon (Alex), Danielle Brooks (Taystee), Uzo Aruba (Crazy Eyes) and Kate Mulgrew (Red) are all confirmed to return. We also know, thanks to some beans spilt by Brooks in a recent interview, the season will take place over the course of three days. She added “It will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready. Get your popcorn, your tissues, everything.”
If you remember the finale of season 4, things had got rather tense in the prison after the tragic death of Poussey (Samira Wiley). This resulted in a riot, ending with Daya (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun to the head of prison guard Thomas “Humps” Humphrey (Michael Torpey)… So I would assume the next season will pick up where we left off.
We will see when Orange Is the New Black returns for Season 5 on the 9th June 2017 on Netflix.
