The cast of BBC One show Cuffs took to Twitter to announce the police drama would not be back for a 2nd series.
End of an era. And we are all gutted. Thanks to a wonderful cast, crew and fans. No series two. Sad day. #bbcCuffs pic.twitter.com/oDgCajLHjH

The show which starred Amanda Abbington (who was first to break the news on Twitter), Ashley Walters, Shaun Dooley, & Eleanor Matsuura ended last night, and Abbington said the cast all are totally ‘gutted’ over the cancellation.
A BBC spokesperson said, “We are very proud of Cuffs and would like to thank all those involved but in order to create space for new shows and to keep increasing the range of BBC1 drama the show will not be returning for a second series.” Cuffs ratings started okay at 4.9m, but had dropped to around 2.5m, so possibly not the breakout hit the Beeb were hoping it would be.
If you were a fan of the show, there is of course a petition up and running if you’d like to voice your displeasure.
