The Strain Returns To The UK In September On ‘W’
Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s The Strain will return to the UK for it’s 3rd Season – 9th September at 9pm on ‘W’ it has been announced.
The show stars Corey Stoll (House of Cards), as Head of the CDC, Dr. Ephraim “Eph” Goodweather, who has to form a group to battle a virus which is raging through New York. However, this is no ordinary virus… It is controlled by an ancient evil known as ‘The Master’, who is using it to create vampiric followers known as the ‘strigoi’.
Joining Eph in this war are Professor Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley – Harry Potter films, Game of Thrones), a Holocaust survivor who spent his life trying to stop The Master; Fellow CDC member Dr. Nora Martinez (Mía Maestro – The Twilight Saga); Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand – Lost, Noah), a rat exterminator turned vampire hunter; And Dutch Velders (Ruta Gedmintas – The Borgias, The Tudors), a hacker who was hired by the bad guys, but switched sides when she realised who and what they were.
As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts – betrayal, disappointment, paranoia – our group is splintering… Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. Is there still hope to save the city and humanity?
