US network Starz have announced they are expanding their deal with Power exec producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, to develop a superhero series called Tomorrow, Today.

The new show, based of an original script by Jackson, is about a war veteran from the south side of Chicago who is falsely imprisoned, only to become the personal experiment of a crazed prison doctor trying to create the perfect man… which turns him into an unstoppable killing machine! Set free, but on the run, he must reconcile with the world that has turned against him, and use his newfound abilities for good.

“I am looking forward to continuing my relationship with my Starz family, we have had great success together on Power and I am excited to get going on all of our upcoming projects together.” commented Jackson about the new show. “I knew Starz would be the perfect home for Tomorrow, Today. This project is very personal to me… creating it, writing it, finding the best team for it and I will continue to be involved every step of the way.”

Bates Motel’s Anthony Cipriano and Dan Kay (I.T.) will executive produce the series, with Kirkland Morris serving as producer, and also writer.

Jackson’s current series, Power, has been a huge hit in Starz, setting viewership records for the network when season 3 premiered.  Carmi Zlotnik, MD of Starz commented on the new show “We’re excited to develop this series with Curtis to showcase his producing skills with this unique storyline”.

Power can been seen in the UK on Netflix. We’ll let you know if and when someone picked up the new series.
