The Last Ship Sails Into A 4th Season

The Last Ship will be back for a 4th season it was announced yesterday at Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. The show about the adventures of the USS Nathan James, has been a strong performer for it’s US network TNT, so it’s not great shock to see it get a renewal.

Based on the novel by William Brinkley, The Last Ship follows the crew of a US navel vessel which survives a global pandemic due to being in the Arctic at the time of the outbreak. The first 2 seasons focused on the search for a cure, whilst the 3rd season is more about rebuilding the nation after such a huge global catastrophe. The show stars Eric Dane (Grey’s Anatomy), Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck), Charles Parnell (All My Children, The Venture Bros.), with Bridget Regan (Legend of the Seeker, Agent Carter) joining the cast in the 3rd season.

The show is produced by Turner’s Studio T in association with Platinum Dunes. Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and… Michael Bay (don’t let that put you off) are executive producers, with co-creators and showrunners Hank Steinberg (Without a Trace) and Steven Kane (The Closer).

The Last Ship Season 3 is currently airing on Sky 1, Sundays at 8pm.
