Chicago P.D.’s Jon Seda Moving To Chicago Justice
For those of you who are fans of Chicago P.D.’s detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), you won’t be seeing him on the show for much longer. Fear not though, he isn’t gone for good. Dawson is moving roles to become investigator for the DA’s office in new spin-off series Chicago Justice.
Chicago Justice ran as a backdoor pilot on Chicago P.D. last season, and introduced Philip Winchester (Strike Back) as prosecutor Peter Stone, and Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator, Arrested Development) as Cook County State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies. The new show follows prosecutors and investigators of Chicago State’s Attorney’s team as they navigate their way through Chicago area politics, the legal arena, and media coverage while pursuing justice.
Dawson will be teamed up with Lori Nagle (Joelle Carter – Justified), who’s character was also introduced in the pilot. He is replacing investigator Daren Okada (Ryan-James Hatanaka) who is no longer part of the team.
This will actually be Seda’s 3rd Chicago show, having started off in Chicago Fire before moving to Chicago P.D. It’s not entirely clear when the move will happen, but Chicago Justice is set to air mid-season (i.e. Early 2017) in the US, so we should find out then.
No news on a UK air date or channel for Chicago Justice but hopefully either Sky Living, Universal Channel or 5USA will pick it up. Ideally we don’t want to end up with a 4th channel running a Chicago show, making the syncing up of episodes even worse!

I’m seriously considering giving up on these three shows because the cross overs are just too annoying being all out of synch across the three channels. Sky Living didn’t bother showing its Chicago Med cross over episode – thankfully it was available on Sky catch up at the time I needed it for the other two shows, but it’s still a pain to see a ‘previously on …’ at the start of a show for something I haven’t yet seen on one of the sister shows. Throw Chicago Justice into the mix as well will likely be too much for me! Shame, as I still love Chicago Fire.
Yeh. It’s rather annoying they didn’t try to keep them together rather than just going to the highest bidder. Hopefully the new show will go to one for the existing channels and not yet another one getting it even more out of sync.
