DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow 2nd Season Extended By 4 Episodes

The CW (or should that be DCW at this point!) has ordered 4 more episodes of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow it was announced today, giving it one more episode that season 1.

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow was originally picked up for the standard 13 episode ‘midseason’ sized order, despite the fact it’s not actually running in midseason. These additional 4 episodes will bring the run up to 17. Unlike Flash, Supergirl and Arrow, Legends was never designed to be a full US season, so any additional episodes are a nice added bonus.

The first season saw Time Master Rip Hunter (Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill) bring together a team consisting of The Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Martin Stein (Victor Garber) & Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh) aka Firestorm, White Canary/Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Captain Cold/Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller), Heat Wave/Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), and Carter Hall (Falk Hentschel) & Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) aka Hawkman & Hawkgirl. They were trying to prevent Vandal Savage from altering the future, and taking over the planet. Unknown to the team, the Time Council, supposed overseers of the timeline, had been helping Savage rise to power, which leads to the Legends destroying all the Time Masters, and eventually Savage himself.

Season 2 sees the Legends trying to step in to the shoes of Time Council. With no one overseeing the timeline, it’s up to the ragtag band of DC characters travel through time, and prevent ‘time criminals’ from altering the timeline, whilst trying not to disrupt it themselves. Now the Legends are facing a new threat from the [adopts booming voice] LEGION OF DOOM… Led by Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher) aka Reverse Flash, who’s working with Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and a newly evil Captain Cold…

DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow is currently airing on Thursday nights at 8pm on Sky 1.
