The Robinson family have found their last member, as actress Mina Sundwall is cast as middle daughter Penny for Netflix’s Lost In Space reboot.

Sundwall has starred in the movie Freeheld with Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, Michael Shannon & Steve Carell, Maggie’s Plan with Ethan Hawke and popped up in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

She joins Toby Stephens (Black Sails) who plays the father & commander John Robinson, Molly Parker (House of Cards) who plays mother & biochemist Maureen Robinson, and Parker Posey (Search Party, Louie) who takes on the role of the scheming Dr. Smith, switched to a female character for this version.

The other two Robinson children are played by Maxwell Jenkins (Sense8) who is portraying the youngest child Will, and Taylor Russell (Falling Skies) will play eldest child Judy. The final member of the crew is Ignacio Serricchio (Bones) who plays Major Don West, pilot of the Jupiter 2 spacecraft.

That concludes all the main human casting for the show, although they do still need to find a voice for the beloved ‘Danger Will Robinson’ robot companion.

The Netflix reboot is being written by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Power Rangers 2017), who will also exec produce along with Zack Estrin (No Ordinary Family, Prison Break, Charmed), who will serves as showrunner.

Lost In Space is due to arrive on Netflix in 2018.
