House Of Cards Season 5 Gets May Air Date

by Dave Elliott

Netflix with it’s usual impeccable timing, chose the day of the Inauguration of the 45th President to announce the return of another US President… Francis J. Underwood. House Of Cards Season 5 will stream on to Netflix on the 30th May 2017.

This will be the first season with producers turned showrunners, Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese in charge. They replace Beau Willimon who decided to “move on to new endeavors” after 4 seasons.

It’s interesting to note that the show is airing about 3 months later than normal this year. Whether that is due to the showrunners changing over, or the crazy political landscape in the US, is not entirely clear. One interesting thing in the rather dark and foreboding teaser above, is that the US flag is flying upside down, which is used as a distress signal…

We’ll see exactly what sort of distress it’s signalling when Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright return as Frank & Claire Underwood in House Of Cards on Netflix, 30th May 2017.
