Hell On Wheels’ Anson Mount Will Be Black Bolt In Marvel’s InHumans!

Last week we broke the news that Game Of Thrones’ Iwan Rheon would be playing Maximus The Mad in Marvel’s The Inhumans. Now we have new of who will be playing his big brother, and main man – Black Bolt. That role goes to Hell On Wheels’ kick-ass Cullen Bohannon himself, Anson Mount!

For those of you that don’t know your Inhumans, Black Bolt is their King and leader. Like all Inhumans, Black Bolt has powers, but what makes him most interesting is that his is linked to his voice. That means even the slightest whisper can send out a shockwave with the power to level a city! Consequently, that makes the character basically a mute.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” commented Jeph Loeb, Head Honcho of Marvel Television. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing, almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

Anson is a really clever pick for the role, as he does have a rather expressive face. If you’ve ever watched a episode of Hell On Wheels, you know there were times when Bohannon could practically freeze someone to death with a look.

Anson joins Iwan Rheon, who has been cast as Black Bolt’s scheming younger sibling Maximus The Mad. The rest of the Inhuman Royal Family have yet to be cast.

Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck is taking the helm on the series, with Roel Reiné directing the first 2 episodes, which are also going to be show in IMAX cinemas from the start of September 2017. The entire season lands on ABC on the 26th September 2017 for an 8 episode run. No news yet on a UK pickup, but we will let you know when we have more information.
