A Lot More Vulture In Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer 2!

by Dave Elliott

Does the suit make the man? That’s the question in the latest trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man Homecoming, which is due in UK Cinemas on the 7th July 2017.

We also get to see a lot more of the movie’s ‘big bad’, Vulture (Michael Keaton), as Peter Parker (Tom Holland) decides to take on the villain against the advice of Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.)

For those that aren’t up on their comic book history, Vulture first appeared way back in 1963 on the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #2. His real name is Adrian Toomes, and in the film version, he’s blue collar owner of a salvage company that cleans up the mess left by superhero battles – This is possibly, although not confirmed, as the company ‘Damage Control’. That might help explain the delay in the development of the Damage Control tv show, which was supposed to be coming to ABC in the US. This may be a way to help launch the show, without the need for Mr. Keaton to appear, as one would assume he’s defeated by the end of the movie. According to reports, in the film, a government agency led by Stark pushes Toomes out of the company, leading him to take on the Vulture mantel.

From the trailer above, we can see Tony is not happy about Peter taking on these bigger villains, even telling him to stick to being a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man…”

Spider-Man Homecoming is the first time the web-slinger has been seen on the big screen since he was folded back into the wider Marvel universe during Captain America: Civil War. Let’s hope this solo outing goes well for Sony and Marvel, as it may inspire Fox to do the same with The X-Men…

Spider-Man Homecoming will swing into UK Cinemas on the 7th July 2017.
