‘The Tick’ Gets An August UK Air Date On Amazon Prime

by Dave Elliott

The Tick will premiere in the UK and US on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 25th August 2017 the streaming giant announced today.

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a super villain. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero…

That ‘strange blue superhero’ is of course The Tick, played by original voice of Darth Maul, and Guardians of the Galaxy star Peter Serafinowicz. He’s joined by Griffin Newman (Vinyl, Gravity, Political Animals) as accountant and sidekick Arthur, and Valorie Curry (House of Lies, The Following, Veronica Mars) as Dot.

Serafinowicz is the second person to don the blue suit in live action, after Patrick Warburton (Lemony Snicket in A Series of Unfortunate Events) played the part on the cult, but short lived series in the early 2000’s.

The series is written and exec produced by it’s creator, and original illustrator of The Tick comic book, Ben Edlund.

The Tick premieres on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and US on Friday 25th August 2017.
