The League Of Gentlemen Returns To TV For 3 Specials!

The League Of Gentlemen welcome you to return to Royston Vasey later this year, as BBC Two announce 3 specials to celebrate 20 years since their debut on BBC Radio!

The much-loved and critically-acclaimed comedy from the dark and twisted minds of Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith and Jeremy Dyson first appear on BBC Two in 1999 but originated as a radio show in 1997. It ran for 3 series, winning the Rose D’Or and the BAFTA for Best Comedy Series in 2000. That was followed by a movie, 2 national stage show tours, and various books.

For those of you that don’t know the series, it’s set in Royston Vasey, a fictional town in Northern England, and follows the lives of the, truly bizarre and creepy, townsfolk, all played by Gatiss, Pemberton, and Shearsmith.

Since ‘The League Of Gentlemen’ ended, Gatiss has gone on to huge success with ‘Sherlock’ and writing for ‘Doctor Who’. Pemberton went on to co-create the massively popular ‘Benidorm’ and re-teamed with Shearsmith for ‘Psychoville’ and ‘Inside No. 9’.

No exact date has been given for The League Of Gentlemen’s return, other than it will be later in 2017, but we’ll let you know when we find out more!
