Netflix has added a couple of new faces to fill out the cast of House Of Cards when it returns for its Spacey-less Season 6 the streaming service has announced.

If you’re going to add some new roles, who better to pick than a couple of Oscar nominees – Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear. This is the first new casting we’ve had since the show was forced to shut down following Kevin Spacey’s firing. Production has restarted, hence this announcement, although the exact parts they playing is being kept under wraps for now. The once small piece of information they have revealed is that they will be portraying brother and sister.

Following Spacey being given a hefty and well-deserved boot, the writers got to work altering the final season’s script to focus on Robin Wright’s President Claire Underwood in the lead role. The scrapping of the season as it was is believed to have cost something in the region of $39 million, so not a cheap choice, but we’re very grateful Netflix found a way to continue and didn’t leave the show, and fans, hanging.

Also confirmed as returning are series regulars Michael Kelly as Doug, Jayne Atkinson as Catherine, Boris McGiver as Tom, and Derek Cecil as Seth. They will be joined by Campbell Scott as Special Adviser Mark Usher and Patricia Clarkson as Jane Davis, Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, both who appeared in Season 5.

Additionally, Constance Zimmer, who played Janine Skorsky, an investigative reporter for The Washington Herald in Season 4 will be returning, which probably doesn’t spell good news for the Underwood administration!

We don’t yet have an air date for House Of Cards‘ Season 6, but we hope it should be later in 2018.
