It’s been nearly a year since news first dropped that groundbreaking US sitcom Roseanne would be returning for a new series. Now we have our first good look at the show as it releases it’s first full-length trailer.

For those of you that didn’t grow up in the 90’s, ‘Roseanne’ follows the Conners family, who live hand-to-mouth, in the fictional small town of Lanford, Illinois. It centred around mother Roseanne (Roseanne Barr), her husband Dan (John Goodman), and their 3 children in a comic (and sometimes quite dark) portrayal of an average working-class American family.

The returning show sees all the main cast back. Along with Barr and Goodman, Laurie Metcalf returns as Aunt Jackie, Sara Gilbert is back as Darlene as is Michael Fishman as D.J. Alicia Goranson returns to her role as Becky, a part she had to leave in Season 5 to attend college and was replaced by Sarah Chalke. However, Chalke is also returning, but as a new character, Andrea, who is a middle-class married woman who hires Becky as her surrogate.

Big Bang Theory’s Johnny Galecki, who shot to fame in the series, is also back for a guest spot in his role as David, husband to Darlene, although only for one episode due to BBT scheduling conflicts. Other original series actors returning in guest roles include Estelle Parsons as Roseanne’s mother Beverly Harris, Sandra Bernhard as friend Nancy Bartlett, Natalie West as Dan’s inappropriately young stepmother Crystal Anderson, James Pickens Jr. as Dan’s poker buddy Chuck Mitchell and Adilah Barnes as Roseanne’s childhood friend Anne-Marie Mitchell.

New cast includes Emma Kenney as Darlene & David’s daughter Harris Conner-Healy, with Ames McNamara as their son Mark Conner-Healy. Jayden Rey will play Mary Conner, daughter of D.J.

There’s still no news on a UK pick up for Roseanne as yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear something.
