Sky Atlantic Sets April UK Premiere Dates For ‘Silicon Valley’ Season 5

US tech comedy Silicon Valley will return to Sky Atlantic for a 5th Season in April it has been announced.

Created by Mike Judge (‘Beavis & Butthead’) the show follows introverted computer programmer Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) and his start-up company Piped Piper, as he tries to navigate the choppy waters of the high-tech gold rush.

To recap where we left Richard, Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani), Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) and Jared (Zach Woods), their video compression engine was the victim of industrial espionage, their user platform turned out to be so user unfriendly it never saw a full release, and their video chat app contravened the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Also, Erlich is in a state of constant intoxication somewhere in Tibet, likely never to return… Mainly due to T.J. Miller’s much publicised leaving the show!

As Season 5 begins, Richard’s decentralised internet PiperNet approaches its debut, and the gang have ample funding and new offices. However, despite this upswing, Richard is finding the pressure to get things right stymying, as he is forced to grow the company in ways he hadn’t planned. Meanwhile, Gavin Belson (Matt Ross), back as head honcho at tech giant Hooli, finds himself worrying about becoming antiquated.

Silicon Valley‘ comes to Sky Atlantic & NOW TV on Thursday, 5th April at 10.10pm.
