Amazon Sets June UK Premiere Date For ‘Preacher’ Season 3

Amazon Prime UK will be airingPreacher‘ Season 3 in June it has been announced, just hours after it’s US screening.

Based on the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic book series, the show stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, a preacher in the little Texas town of Annville. After becoming possessed by Genesis, a supernatural entity produced by the unholy coupling of an angel and a demon, he gains the ability to make people do his bidding. Season 2 of the show saw Jesse, together with Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) the Irish vampire, and Tulip (Ruth Negga), his rather unhinged but extremely badass ex-girlfriend, head to New Orleans in search of God who has, apparently, gone missing.

Picking up where Season 2 left off, Season 3 sees Jesse, Cassidy and Tulip return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised and where old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends – and a few enemies – Jesse will need to escape his past… because the future of the world depends on it. The 10 episode season is inspired by the second volume of the comic book series, ‘Until the End of the World’.

‘Preacher’ Season 3 stars Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia), Academy Award® nominee Ruth Negga (Loving), Joseph Gilgun (Lockout), Ian Coletti (Baby Mama), Graham McTavish (Outlander), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul, Fargo), Malcolm Barrett (Dear White People), Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why, Awkward), Ronald Guttman (Mozart in the Jungle, Mad Men) and new comers Betty Buckley (Supergirl), Jeremy Childs (Nashville), Colin Cunningham (Falling Skies) and Liz McGeever (Homeland).
